Eliza Thompson House, Historic Inns of Savannah Collection

This was our first time in a bed and breakfast. The staff was delightful. Property was clean. Location is perfect for shopping and walking in the historic district. I’m giving it 5 stars for what it is-but it’s not a five star hotel. It’s an old house! The food was better than what I would cook but if you love breakfast I hear there are some gourmet breakfast places in Savannah. I would stay here again and recommend to a friend for an affordable bed and breakfast.

Breakfast was not as good as previous stay

The staff exemplified southern hospitality and made me feel welcome 24/7. The breakfast menu featured new entrees each day and provided a good selection of choices. I would definitely recommend the ETH. Thank you!

Great time as always!

The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. The historical home was absolutely stunning. Delicious food, pristine room, very calming atmosphere. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Exceeded our expectations for our 1st B&B experience. Loved the refreshments, appetizers and desserts in the living room. They were really helpful with the parking situation.

It was not a place of luxury as described. It looks, feels, and sounds like a historical home. The bed was really hard and extremely squeaky. Just a basic bedroom and shower with no amenities. Breakfast time had to be reserved and ordered in advance. Wish we could have come down and ordered from a menu when we were ready. Or maybe have pastries or something in the coffee area in the morning.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Peaceful relaxing with wonderful staff always ready to help. We just wished we were staying longer. Regards Diane and Lewis Moss

Lovely historic property, in the most beautiful area in Savannah, other than being on one of the actual squares, but definitely don’t take that as a criticism! We had a quaint, street level suite, which was perfect for me, since I am somewhat disabled (although I don’t think that it would be wheelchair friendly, as there are some stairs to get in and around the suite, and to get to reception and the parlor would be impossible). They went out of their way to provide me with the perfect shower chair, too. Speaking of the parlor, it was totally worth climbing the stairs to partake in the delicious afternoon hors d'oeuvres, served with a variety of wines and soft drinks. Additionally, they serve dessert with port in the evening, which is great. Breakfast is served on the terrace in the back yard, and it’s a lovely experience, the service is excellent and the food is wonderful. We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Savannah with them, would definitely recommend. Plus it is said to be haunted! We are avid paranormal investigators, and although we didn’t do any investigating in the hotel, on one occasion in the parlor, I asked my husband about “Jone’sing” for something he wanted, and then I clearly heard a woman loudly whisper, “I am Jones” behind me! It was wierd, I don’t know who it might have been, but the Inn is located on Jones Street!!

Excellent breakfast with choices. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Rooms were clean and reflected the time area. Thanks for the social hour, dessert time, and water/bug spray.
