Grand Victorian - Spring Lake

The staff made for an exceptional experience. Allison, Gail and Michael made us feel like were guests of royalty, continually exceeding expectations. Allison in particularly provides immediate and friendly service. She's an "I can do that" person.

The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome, even walking us to our room. We got there early and they gave us a towel and beach badge to use while we waited until check in. They did not have to do this. The building is dated, and our bathroom was clean but in rough shape. The shower is tiny and it's hard to fit in there (I am average build). But we were not in the room for long, so this did not matter to us. Avoid Room #12. It is over the kitchen and there is noise/music/pots and pans clanging until ~10 PM. The front desk woman made out a list of things to do locally when we had bad weather and couldn't use the beach. The staff really made the stay pleasant and we will come again because of this, just in a different room.

We were greeted by Allison upon arrival. She was so accommodating! She offered immediately to go and pick my son up from the train station. Every day, she and her brother Bob did everything possible to make our visit the best it could be. We dined in the restaurant Amelia’s on the property and it was incredibly good! That brother and sister team are the best team I have ever encountered at a hotel. And it wasn’t only me! I watched them interact with the other guests and they were just as kind and efficient!

Not one

Rude and condescending front desk lady. Extremely overpriced, walk-in closet-sized room. No guest parking. No help carrying luggage. No umbrellas on outside tables or communal place to relax.

Our room (#1) was very small and one side of the queen bed didn't have a nightstand. The window shades didnt sufficiently block out light so we were up each morning earlier than we would have liked. It’s weird that the only way to enter is through the restaurant which is a very high end place so coming through in a bathing suit from beach across the street feels odd. The staff is nice enough but there’s nothin to be done about these things. Don’t let the pictures fool you By the way, there is no pool on the premises that picture is the pool at the Breakers hotel next door which is not on hotels.com or Expedia only available directly from their website.

What’s not to like about Spring Lake. Great hotel, restaurant, walk to beach, bicycle availability, beach chairs, towels and just about everything the Grand Victorian offers. Plus Ann incredibly accommodating staff.

This is the third year at the Gand Victorian Spring Lake. Allison and staff are amazing - friendly, courteous and very welcoming. They go above and beyond to make your stay exceptional.

Beautiful property facing the beach! The room was lovely and so clean. Allison at the front desk is super sweet and cordial. She was very helpful giving recommendations to eateries. We will definitely be back. If you want a quiet weekend in a beautiful town, this is the place to be.
