Spearfish Canyon Lodge

If you’re looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, Spearfish Canyon Lodge is for you. We had a queen premier room on the first floor, and it was nice in the evening to open our screened window to hear the creek and let cool, fresh air inside. The room was incredibly clean, and we had zero issues to report. The water is soft at the lodge which I read some complaints about (that’s not a lodge issue. It’s how the water is.) The lodge is QUIET. The staff is super helpful and friendly. They truly went above and beyond for us on our stay including calling our first night there to make sure we were settled in. The restaurant across the street is wonderfully delicious (the Mountain Man Pasta was my favorite.) We enjoyed sipping coffee (served in the lobby) out on the rocking Adirondack chairs overlooking the canyon walls. The parts everyone cares about: Parking was a breeze Spearfish Falls Trail is right across the street Room was incredibly clean Bathroom toilet was really low Location was perfect and quiet Price can’t be beat I have added this lodge to my list of places to visit annually.

The toilets are VERY short and low to the ground. If you have any knee or mobility issues, this may be a concern.

The location is beautiful, accommodations were great, and the food was delicious.unfortunately I would not be able to afford this trip on a regular basis

The setting for the lodge was spectacular! There were 3 hikes ranging in difficulty in which the trail head was on site. The grounds provided many venues to sit outside in the wonderful weather. The staff was helpful when we inquired about a nearby picnic area, that turns out to be a small lake nestled in between wooded mountains.

The coffee in the main lodge was provided but was cold each morning.

I had a great breakfast every morning at the restaurant. Perfectly located across the street from the lodge.

Location was great.

Rooms were dark and did not seem welcoming. Free coffee but you will pay for everything else.

The place was peaceful. Awesome staff.
