Peermont Metcourt Khoroni, Thohoyandou

There are only 1 thing I liked about the property: (1) The staff and how friendly they are. Everyone greets and is very welcoming. That is what made up for everything else that is wrong about that property. The service they offered was not top notch but I really don’t blame them given the limitations they have when having to offer a good facility in such an outdated facility

The property is located in an area that is not too desirable because it is not well maintained by the local municipality. Over and above the area it is located in, the maintenance of the Khoroni property is very poor from the condition of the infrastructure at the gate to the very outdated furniture and fittings. Everything there is just old and needs a serious revamp. Over and above that the cleanliness of the general / public areas is a concern. The rooms themselves were satisfactory in as far as cleanliness is concerned but all other general areas are not clean at all. The impression / narrative that Peermont gives on the website about the property is misleading. From the luxurious looking pictures to the descriptions about the Moo Bar, none of it is as indicated. I was there for 4 nights and on none of those nights did that Moo Bar operate. Furthermore I did not like the fact that the place does not even have a swimming pool. Apart from the casino there is nothing more to do in the facility, except perhaps drink.

The breakfast was spectacular

1. The door wasn’t working and ultimately our luggage got locked inside the room on the 3rd day and we were locked out because the door lock system was apparently out of batteries so they moved us into another room. 2. The shower knob/tap in the first room wasn’t working so we had to jerk it with a paper. 3. The extractor fan in the first bathroom was also not working. 4. The staff had a tendency of not attending to guests when they were standing at the counter. 5. The bathtubs look incredibly dated with many scratches.

Room was very clean, friendly and helpful staff/service.... Breakfast was very nice. We really enjoyed our stay

Location

There was no hot water, they lied and said they are upgrading the room just for them to give us same room , toilet was dirty and the bathroom was dirty Pissed is understatement I will never visit this hotel again Receptionist took close to 2 hours to assist us, she was working alone going up and down not even greeting the guest until it’s your time to be assisted. It took her 2 hours to assist 3 guests to check in
