Really cool old hotel just outside town. You can tell the owners care about the place and are in the process of restoring it. The area is very quiet and there was plenty of parking available.

Other than a couple of kind staff members, this place was a less than desirable experience. The pool handrail was loose to the point where one false move could've dislodged it. There was a step on the outside stairs that was nearly rusted through and was beginning to break. The shower and tub faucet need an upgrade as the faucet wouldnt fully turn off for the shower. The continental breakfast was not great, either. The trashcan was approaching overflow, the waffle iron was old and seemed hazardous to the unexperienced, the mystery juice was unlabled and definitely not orange juice. And lastly, a $75 deposit was taken out of my account under the pretense

Everything was great with the property except that both my son and I like firm/extra firm mattresses. Both queen beds had a very soft mattress which is probably what most people like, but unfortunately not us.

This is a charming property with an old-fashioned feel and a pleasant staff. It is reasonably-priced and a nice contrast to the overpriced corporate hotels. It is a great place for those visiting the Carolina Sandhills for birding, hunting, golf, etc.

This is the worse hotel that I have ever stayed at. I was traveling with my 6 year old autistic son. I have to include the age of my child when I booked the room. The put us in the room right next to the bar. I complained about the noise and how loud it was at 9:30 because it was stressing my son out and he couldn’t sleep. They said that they would handle it. All they did was close the door. It was so loud that I could make out the entire conversations that people were having in the bar. This loudness continued until 1am. We got no sleep at all. We travel all the time and have never had an issue like this. I stressed to them at checkout how bad our night was and when the noise finally stopped. They said oh well and didn’t acknowledge any of it. I asked them why they would put someone with a 6 year old right next to the bar and I got the same response, oh well and no acknowledgment. The manager of the hotel wouldn’t even give us the time of day or talk to us at all. We were treated like we were a waste of time and we didn’t matter to them. In the end, they made it very clear that we didn’t matter to them. It was the worse customer service I have ever had. I do not ever recommend staying here, especially with kids. My son was very respectful and quiet the entire time but he was scared to death.

We were here for a golf tournament for our daughter. The hotel we usually stay at was booked up so I took a chance on this one and I'm so glad I did because I won't go back to the other hotel. The staff was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was clean and nice. I enjoyed some drinks from the bar and we all enjoyed the pool. Traveling with a teenager, an 8 month old, and a large dog makes things interesting but our stay was so great. My only complaint would be that the outlets are scarce and a bit untrustworthy but other than that, my husband and I were very pleased.

I would say it would be nice if breakfast started at 6:30am instead of 7:00am for people getting up early to leave and be able to have time to eat before heading out places.
