Black Orchid Resort

Wonderful place. Not too far from airport, perfect for first or last night. Spacious room. Air conditioning was already on, so arrived to a cool room. A troop of howler monkeys were in the trees near the pool in the late afternoon and could hear them howling in the morning. Though not on new menu, made the coconut French toast for breakfast on request, it was heavenly and worth a high calorie splurge. Refeigerator in room. Note that if you are traveling with someone who struggles with stairs to ask for first floor.

Small thing, but would have been nice to supply hand soap.

We had large gaps above both our doors that we needed to fill with towels from our bathroom to keep the heat, humidity, and bugs out. We also had several geckos running in and out of our room through cracks in the wall that freaked my daughter out.

Black Orchid was clean,neat, well maintained. The pool area was great. Every area felt inviting. It is a unique area with beautiful views. We even heard the howling monkeys! The best part of our stay was the staff. From our transportation driver who told us all about the area on the drive, who also make a quick stop so we could purchase a needed item. Checking in was simple and our rooms were great. The bar and restaurant areas were inviting as were the staff there. Every possible thing we could have needed was provided. And the food as amazing. We learned all about Belize food and had wonderful meals. We are staying again next week!!

It’s close to the airport and has good food in their restaurant. Everyone is always friendly.

Getting the TV to work was a hassle.

Convenient and comfortable stop close to the international airport; helpful staff and nicely maintained grounds

The wifi connection was not strong and made it difficult to use devices

Lovely setting next to river, very pleasant alternative to staying in Belize City. We liked the pool and gardens, and food in restaurant was good, with a big choice for breakfast. The lady on reception was very helpful.

I stayed at Black Orchid Resort for the last day/night of my visit to Belize. Although it is close to the airport, the resort is in a beautiful forest setting on the bank of the Belize River. Howler monkeys and other wildlife make you feel you are much farther away from BZE. My river view room was both classic and modern, spotless, with excellent AC and Wi-Fi (which was great across the property). All meals were excellent, and the pool with adjacent bar was a great way to spend a last day in Belize. But the best part - the staff. Although I spent one night there, you could easily use this as a base to explore the nature and cultural sites in the region. Highest recommendation.

Shuttle service to the airport, great location to the airport. Friendly and extremely helpful staff. Beautiful views on the river, restaurant was tasty.
