Greenway Woods Resort

If you need a no frills place to stay, this is it. Located an hour outside of Kruger, this tranquil “resort” is the place to be if you want peace and beauty. The food was ok. They gave us a takeaway breakfast consisting of a breakfast bar and salami sandwich. The WiFi didn’t work in our room, but did in the lobby.

On paper, this place ticks all the boxes but it's let down badly by lack of attention in many areas and it could be so much better. We were unlucky enough to have been given a room next to a large group of students on a 'jolly' who were unloading their supermarket trolley full of booze when we arrived. When we returned to Reception to let them know our concerns about this and to move to a different room, the Receptionist just laughed at us which went down like a lead balloon (the previous Receptionist who'd checked us in had just finished her shift). We managed to secure a room furthest away from the partying students and found the accommodation to resemble Butlins in the UK! The rooms are like little chalets and very basic inside. They were clean enough though. We went back to the bar and ordered some lunch, a pizza and a burger. When they were delivered, they didn't bring any knives and forks and when we asked for them were told that the waitress never uses them to eat pizza or burgers so why should we?! The terrace outside the bar area is lovely but it overlooked a swimming pool which was full of leaves and twigs although whilst we were there, a guy did make a half-hearted attempt at clearing them out. When we returned for dinner in the evening, the restaurant was completely full of the partying students so we grabbed a plate of food from the buffet and sat in the bar area where the lovely and really helpful barman made sure we were looked after and provided us with knives and forks!! We made sure that we had our breakfast as early as possible before the students arrived and the breakfast was delicious - lots of choice and fresh and hot cooked food. Whether or not our stay would have felt different if we'd stayed when the students were there, I'm not sure but we were glad we'd only booked in for one night and were able to escape to the airport early the following morning.

The family enjoyed, the kids had fun and the food was outstanding. The rooms were clean and the place was quite. It is well situated, closer to town and the Kruger National park. The stuff memebers were very helpful and cheerful.

Very warm welcome on arrival. Our room was spacious, clean, comfy and well decorated. The linens were lovely. The whole resort seems well looked after and is more extensive than I had anticipated. We had a restaurant supper on the terrace which was very pleasant and served by attentive staff. Buffet breakfast the next morning was ample and again served by very attentive staff. Pool area is lovely and we would definitely use this report again.

Everything was good, the rooms where clean and also it was a couples trip so it's good that we all have our private rooms under one roof.... The breakfast was wonderful and fresh, I seriously would recommend anyone who wants to visit MP to book, there.

Rooms were dirty taken into consideration that they offer room maintenance. Toilet seat was broken and only repaired day before our departure. Shower ( in bath) is unsafe and waste water all over the bathroom area. Gardens are dirty and not maintained at all.

It is a lovely setting but the rooms are pretty shabby and not the cleanest, the beds for instance are difficult to get out! i believe the owners are just milking the location and not investing in the resort.

When we arrived they had no record of our booking until I phoned my husband to ask who we booked through did the receptionist bother to look in the back office. She seemed to wait until I got really annoyed. Once we checked in everyone was very pleasant.

The rooms were average but i enjoyed the variety of games made available to us.we realised when we got there that our room didn't have a fridge which we needed for our baby's food, but when we enquired they provided us with one. Very friendly staff.
