A hidden Gem
Great price for downtown. Friendly staff. Comfy bed. Was on second floor and was quiet. Area is sketchy at night but had no issues.
The staff at the Inn were super friendly - likely the nicest hotel staff I've ever encountered (Shout out to Ash at reception!) The room was small, but cute and clean. The walls however were paper thin and you could hear everyone going and going at any and all hours of the night. There was construction happening outside our window as well (not the hotels fault) which started around 7am each day - the walls being so thin you could hear conversations from the construction workers. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and it was squeaky anytime anyone moved - but we made it work. The location was fairly good if you don't mind a small jaunt to the subway station, about 15 minutes to either College or Dundas (which is next to the Eaton Centre) Overall, we did have a good stay, the complimentary tea/coffee in the morning was nice. And, the staff were able to store our luggage for the day when we checked out so we didn't have to carry it around with us before we head to the airport. Based on the tin walls and the bed, we would probably look for other accommodations first next time, but the Pembroke Inn wouldn't be a hard no if it came down to it.
My partner and I have stayed at this hotel at least four times now. It is a little gem tucked away in a residential area off the beaten path, but so close to streetcar and subway transportation. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and each room is unique. Don’t let the neighbourhood scare you off too much, we have walked the streets in the area late at night and had no issues. Give this place a try, and I think you’ll like it as much as we do.
Comfortable and convenient area close to downtown core, and a lovely little courtyard out front the inn that gave a nice outdoor change of space. Check in/out was easy and quick. Space was bright, comfortable, and clean and was exactly what we were looking for.
Got a parking ticket they did not tell me i needed a permit
All staff were personable and very helpful when responding to questions. Washrooms were clean and updated. Air conditioners in rooms worked well. Beds were comfortable.
Pros: clean, walkable, friendly staff. Cons: can hear everything in the hallway and the footsteps from the floor above me. Sketchy area but it’s near downtown.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were incredibly helpful, the inn was spotless and it was perfect for our needs.
