Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus Polaris

There was a problem with Expedia when we checked in. We were on sixth floor, and the elevator button was not working on that floor, so we had to call the desk to get the elevator. The front desk manager was outstanding.

The hotel itself is correct and comfortable, but there are some serious concerns. The breakfast was very poor, definitely below the expected Hampton Inn & Suites standard. More importantly, this is the second time I’ve stayed here and both times cars have been broken into in the parking lot. During this stay, around 25 cars were vandalized overnight. Clearly, security is a major issue. A stronger security presence (cameras, patrols, controlled access) would be highly recommended to make guests feel safe.

The hotel and its staff were amazing. the room was great. The problem is when I went to my vehicle this morning and my windows were busted out, along with over 20 others in the parking lot. The officer told us this has been happening for 6 months and multiple times at the same location. Why are people not warned about this or security increased to prevent it??

Secure your cars when you stay here! We were here with two cars and got lucky that they didn’t get broken into. Overnight from Saturday 9/27 to Sunday 9/28/2025 at least six cars & trucks in the Hampton Inn lot did as well as two in the neighboring Fairfield Inn lot. We heard from other hotel guests that it wasn’t the first time, it had also happened a couple nights before. The desk clerk at the Fairfield Inn where we had other members of our family staying said that it happens all the time! I don’t know if we would have stayed here if we had known this!! It seems like they primarily targeted family cars where things were visible on the inside and construction company pick up trucks that might have had tools inside. The hotel had a shop vac and helped to get all the broken glass etc out, but I can’t imagine having to deal with this while traveling!! If this is a known issue the hotels should get security patrolling the lots. We heard that there was camera footage but they were wearing face masks. When I did a quick google search I saw news reports about hotel parking lot car break ins in July as well as August 2025 in the Polaris area. As far as the hotel itself: We had the 2 queen bed sofa suite for our family of five and it was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was good, complete with eggs, ham, biscuits and gravy, waffles and fresh cut up fruit (pineapple). The work out room is nice, two treadmills.

Rooms were clean and your standard Hampton Inn design/style. Our desk chair was broken (not that most people use them a lot) and the carpet had some snags like its showing its age but nothing awful. Biggest complaint was the parking lot. There were several cars with broken windows when we woke up Sunday morning. Police were there filing reports but there are no cameras in the parking lot. This is a relatively common problem in these areas right now and there is 0 reason a hotel in the Hilton line can't afford a couple of parking lot cameras and the couple hundred dollar a month for 3rd-party monitoring. I know they can't necessarily prevent the crime from happening, but throwing your hands up and saying "Sorry, not our problem" is a great way to take someone's bad day and make it 100x worse.

Our toilet did not flush and maintenance "fixed" but next morning did not flush again then decided to change the part. Would have been nice if he just would have changed the part to begin with. We did receive 50.00 off our bill. Hampton needs to do something to secure their property instead of just posting a sign that we are responsible for our own vehicle. We were one of many that had our windows smashed out and Hampton just acted like oh well what are we suppose to do. Maintenance did shop vac out our vehicle but the people this happened to should have gotten our money back. This was not the first time this facility had this happen and nothing was done to secure property after first time. Be better and make your guest safe.

As lovely as the room was and very clean, it smelled lovely and clean. The carpets even felt clean. The bathroom very clean too plus the hair products and lotion in the bathrooms and nice thick fluffy towels. Even the hall way smelled very nice and clean without being too overly strong. The manger at the desk was very nice and polite. He even fixed the room card that wasnt working. ***BUT OUR CAR WAS BROKEN INTO IN THE BACK ROW OF THE PARKING LOT. A BUNCH OF CARS HAD THE WINDOWS BUSTED AND ROBBED** the cop said it happens a lot so i would not stay here! Stay at a hotel with way better lighting on THE WHOLE PARKING LOT AND CAMERAS** I did get my room refunded but its not worth the damage and thift to my personal property. On another positive note the breaskfast bar was pretty good, i got to make a fresh made Belgian waffle was so cooked to perfection with little mini chocolate chips on top. It was amazing. I only got a small nibble then a guest let me know my car window had been smashed **IT WASNT EVEN THE HOTEL STAFF THAT BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION** i lost my appetite after and threw my breakfast away.. so sadly i did not get to enjoy that delictable waffle.

The hotel and area was fine. I would suggest more cameras that cover the lot as my car along with several others were broken into.

Elevator going down was not working waiting on a part. We did stairs but were on floor 6.
