Hampton Inn Coldwater

Very clean and great staff. We were so impressed that we decided to stay here an extra night

When I came back to get the key after it not being ready she actually was a pleasant interaction. But besides that and the GUEST who said hello in a nice tone, that was it for the good.

We get there and the key maker isn't working. That's not on the staff though but it's on the company. Besides that the staff interactions always felt awkward and like they didn't want to be there. I get that but my God it was very uncomfortable. Best interaction was with a guest who simply said hello. Oh the water in the tub was disturbingly yellow.

We decided we would stop here before continuing on our trip to see family. Got the whirlpool room. DISGUSTING!!! We thought we would do this to just relax for the afternoon before having a longer drive the next morning. I let the general manager at the desk know the morning we left and showed the pictures. Filling the whirlpool was fine. As soon as you turned it on, so much crud!!! The water was a yellow color (should have taken a picture). Instantly drained it and there was a line where the water was and so much crud on the bottom. I used a washcloth and this was the result (picture). Our TV didn’t work which was okay because just used my laptop. Wasn’t offered the difference between a normal room and whirlpool room or anything although they have their sign about the satisfaction guarantee. If the whirlpool that is supposed to be cleaned daily is that bad I can hardly assume what the air/heat vents are like. (Having an auto immune disorder I hope I don’t get sick even though I try to Clorox everything down.). The bed and shower were what you would expect. The walls are soooo thin. I usually use a competitor to Hilton and looks like that might be what I need to continue to do. I rarely hear a neighbor when staying at their chain. My mom loves Hampton Inns but after this, not sure why. We will now be in this area often so will have to resort to other lodging around

Pillows are horrible. No support or any comfort. As well as the walls are beyond thin. Could hear the people next door crack open a can of pop… you can imagine the sounds that came after that at night.

Quiet and close to everything I need

We booked a room three weeks prior to the travel date and received two confirmation emails from Booking.com confirming our reservation at Hampton Inn in Coldwater. When we arrived to check in at the hotel they did not have a room for us. It was Parent’s weekend at our daughter’s college and the hotel was completely booked. We had to scramble to make another reservation 45 minutes away in Jackson Michigan and Booking.com never reimbursed us for the room like they said they would because of the inconvenience of having to book at a different hotel after being told twice via email that we had a secure reservation at Hampton Inn in Coldwater. The young lady at the front desk was very rude to us and not helpful in providing a solution. We won’t stay there again and won’t use Booking.com anymore either.

Pros: Clean. Staff was pleasant. Cons: Mattresses and pillows were very uncomfortable. Pool area was short on towels. Some people had left trash behind that I cleaned up in the pool area because staff did not enter pool area frequently. TV remote didn’t work properly. They had no extra batteries to replace them, but gave me a master remote and extra sensor to try and make it work. Conditioner bottle was empty. I asked to refill while we were out for the day but it was never done.
