Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites McPherson by IHG

I will be honest, my hotel standards are usually a step above Holiday Inn but on short notice in Mcpherson Kansas the weekend of graduation and a college track meet, options were limited. That being said, i was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room, lobby and breakfast area were very clean. For hotel breakfast, the breakfast was very good (and the breakfast attendant was wonderful). The evening clerk never once seemed annoyed when i had to continually come to the desk for something (forgotten toothbrush, needed a bandaid, etc). My kids had a great time in the pool and hot tub and the pool was a surprisingly comfortable temperature. The only thing that really made me cringe this entire stay was there was some grime buildup on the tiles around the pool. This is standard for a pool and very hard to clean, but it is simply just gross. Honestly what really sold this place for me was the complimentary bottled water (cold OR room temp!) available for the taking. I drink a LOT of water but really struggle with drinking water from a public bathroom tap like a hotel (yes, i use bottled water to brush, OCD gonna OCD *shrugs*). I was traveling solo with 3 kids and opted to leave my gallon store bought water in the car to have a free hand. I have stayed at many hotels acrossed the country and the only ones that have ever truly had complimentary bottled water are usually $500 a night and above. top notch place for a quick family stay, will absolutely stay again.

Just an overall great experience. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. A great staff and clean hotel room I thoroughly enjoyed myself. If your ever in McPherson stop by the holiday in for a few nights.

Front desk guy Justin was fantastic. Walkable restaurants. Breakfast hostess was loud and brash, low social awareness. Beds seemed older- I could feel springs. Room had a strange ammonia smell. O would probably look for another option next time - but it wasn't horrible.

We arrived early and we were greeted with a smile and able to check in early. They offered to help with any restaurant reservations ( we didn’t need any) and ask if they could help us with any concerns. Extremely accommodating hotel and look forward to staying with them next month!!
