The Lodge at Spruce Peak, a Destination by Hyatt Residence

Great space to walk around - cookies were amazing! Only downside was limited onsite food options Monday - Wednesday for dinner.

If first impressions matter, and they do, then spruce Peak is at the top of the charts. I’ve never seen a more efficient and cordial group as the valet attendants. Amidst the chaos, they are cool, calm and on top of it. I give the rest of the staff 4.5 stars. We can’t speak for the spa and we did not participate in the hiking or biking, etc. It was crowded, people were having fun. However, granting this is a five star facility with five star prices, the dining experience came up a bit short both on the quality of food (breakfast buffet) and what seemed like a bit of inexperience and staffing shortages on the floor. 4.5 stars.

Loved it

I booked the Studio (Timberline) accommodation. According to the advertisement, the room is supposed to be just under 500 square feet. However, the room we were given was far from this and felt cramped. When we checked in, we were informed that we had been “upgraded” to a ridgeline view. This was puzzling, as we were placed on the 1st floor with a view of the trees. Although the timberline view was what I had originally booked, the so-called upgrade felt disingenuous. Additionally, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. The doors to the terrace were so dirty that it was difficult to see through them. For the price we paid, I expected a more luxurious room. Unfortunately, the furnishings were quite basic, and the shower head was of such poor quality that I imagine even a prison would have better. Moreover, the noise was a significant issue. The room doors are made of very heavy, solid wood and do not have a soft close mechanism, resulting in loud slams throughout the night and early morning. This made it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. We loved Stowe and plan to return but we would not stay here again. I would not recommend this hotel.

The housekeeping associates were very friendly and pleasant! They made a point to say hello. All associates were accommodating and pleasant.

Nice location for time off. Pool adds to the ambience

After we found out the bedsofa’s are not usable for kids 15 and 17 we got an upgrade to a room with three beds that was magnificent. Fitness area was great. The pool needs more intense cleaning but was great. Nice restaurants and activities nearby and friendly people. Lovely short three day stay. Valet service works great.
