Hôtel bien situé, vu sur la mer mais attention la plage est à 1/2 environ pour les bons marcheurs, crique avec école de plongée à proximité.Les chambres sont spacieuses mais vétustes et surtout climatisation très bruyante mais nécessaire vu les températures caniculaires.Coffre fort cassé et frigo sans boissons journalière !!!! Le petit déjeuner continental varié et bon.

For the time it takes to drive to it (1h30m on not the best roads from Chania airport...) it certainly delivers once you arrive there! Go for the all-inclusive option if you're provided with the option, you will not regret it. We were on "full breakfast and full dinner" where we did expect to also get a free alcoholic drink, apparently not included. The views are stunning. Don't restrict yourself to staying by the (3) pools. There's lots to see around, the hotel grounds are immense! Staff (reception, bar, cleaning) are lovely and (mostly) helpful.

Semaine du 28 juillet au 4 août 2017 plus que décevante au Kalypso Cretan Village. Certes, le cadre est magnifique, les piscines sont belles et propres, l’hôtel est beau, sa restauration satisfaisante. Mais où sont les activités décrites dans les documents ? On cherche encore « l’équipe d’animation » et les activités annoncées en journée et en début de soirée. Pas de miniclub, pas de danses en couple, rien à l’amphi théâtre, rien sur le ‘bateau’, pas de discothèque … bref pour ceux et celles qui attendent un séjour chaleureux et animé passez votre chemin. En arrivant de Plakias ou d’Héraklion, ouvrez bien vos yeux pour trouver la pancarte Kalypso noyée au milieu d’autres et de plus placée d’un seul côté de la route. Quand vous arriverez, à part un accueil hôtelier très cordial, n’attendez rien d’autre provenant d’une équipe d’animation fictive : par exemple quelques informations pratiques, sur le sentier qui doit mener à une vraie plage, sur la région, sur les moyens de s’y déplacer, sur des excursions, sur des services de santé, bref le petit minimum. Petit détail, oubliez le français, utilisez l’anglais et mieux le grec. En résumé, il y a plein de services décrits sur le site de l’hôtel, photos à l’appui, qui ont du exister … mais qui ont disparu déjà depuis un moment vu en particulier l’état d’abandon de certains endroits. Ceci dit, l’endroit comporte pour des enfants nombre d’endroits dangereux et peu sécurisés. D’autant qu’il n’existe plus rien pour eux. Côte hôtellerie

The hotel is in a very pretty place, with no other hotels nearby, which means that the stay is peaceful, calm and without any traffic noise. No sunbed booking as there are enough of them for everyone and an amazing view when having dinner or breakfast. Highly recommended!

Das Hotel liegt weit abseits von Plakias (ca. 45 min zu Fuß, 8 min. mit dem Auto). Das macht es aber auch schön ruhig und erholsam. Direkt auf dem Gelände befindet sich auch eine Tauchschule, die allerdings keine besonders günstigen Preise hat. Für das Geld kann man auch in Deutschland Tauchkurse absolvieren. Das Gelände ist schön und natürlich gestaltet, sodass man sich nicht so eingebaut fühlt wie in vielen anderen Hotelanlagen. Tolle Aussicht über das Meer, soweit ich das einschätzen kann aus fast allen Zimmern. Sehr freundliches Personal. Mindestens zwei der drei Pools führen Salzwasser, im dritten war ich nicht. Leider wurden zu Beginn der Saison noch zahlreiche Renovierungs- und Reinigungsarbeiten durchgeführt, sodass das Hotel noch nicht in seiner vollen Pracht genossen werden konnte. Allgemein macht das Gelände einen abgenutzten Eindruck (gelegentlich abgeblätterter Putz/Farbe, rostige Zäune, ausgebrochene Randsteine, vergilbte Lampen etc.). Auch die Zimmer haben sicher schon bessere Zeiten gesehen: offensichtlich feucht gewordene Badtür, lockerer Duschkopf klappt an die Wand, alter Duschvorhang an der Badewanne, Schimmel an der Deckenabhängung, grobe Fugen an Holzverbindungen. Nach einem Zimmerwechsel, der ohne Probleme durchgeführt wurde, waren die groben Dinge (Schimmel und Duschkopf) passé. Das Essen wurde im Laufe der Woche immer besser. Leider waren die Speisen meist nur mäßig warm, nicht heiß.

This hotel is well worth a visit for a short amount of time. Before you set of I would advise researching the journey. The roads aren't the best and sometimes get extremely narrow. However, on arrival you will be impressed with your surroundings. There is plenty of room for parking cars and you are greeted with some fabulous views. When I'm reception the staff are friendly and informative. The wifi is only accessible in reception and isn't great. The swimming pools are in good condition and offer some good views too. There is also an area where you can get into the sea! Bringing a snorkel along is advisable and there is plenty of opportunity to explore. For those more active there are some great walks and activities put on by the hotel. Where this hotel falls short is their accommodation. The rooms are clean and spacious but very dated. The bathroom and kitchen area was in need of some major TLC! The tv is also very dated and barely works. If spending anytime in the room then bring along your own entertainment. The restaurant is also very basic. They offer a buffer for breakfast and dinner but the quality of food wasn't the best. Although there was lots to choose from if you have a choice I would venture into a different town/ village. The bar area was good and offered a wide selection of drinks which were very reasonably priced. Overall, we felt this was a good short stay and would come back if in the area.
