Disappointing hygiene and aggressive tipping culture - Not up to Hilton standards ​I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites in San Marcos, and unfortunately, the experience was far below the brand's standards. ​1. Poor Hygiene & Housekeeping: The cleanliness was shocking. Upon checking in, the floor hadn't even been vacuumed, and the glasses in the room were dirty. Furthermore, basic amenities were neglected; they failed to restock the toilet paper when it ran out, leaving us without a spare roll. ​2. Hidden Fees & Parking: I was charged $15/night for parking in a standard open lot with no real security features. It felt like a hidden fee just to squeeze more money out of guests. ​3. Aggressive Tipping: Most surprisingly, there were QR codes placed everywhere—even inside the bedroom—soliciting tips for staff. I have never seen this at a Hilton property before. It felt incredibly tacky and intrusive given the high room rate and poor service. ​Overall, this felt like a budget motel experience at a Hilton price. I would not recommend staying here until management addresses these issues.

Stayed here for a conference, and a completely different group came in to our conference room prior to our meal and stole our food so not everyone got to eat. That was the story that we were told. At the end of the day, I would not recommend this place.

Great location, staff was helpful and professional

The property itself was wonderful and the staff were very friendly.

I had a big problem with the “breakfast!” We got down to the lobby an hour before the breakfast was to close. We were disappointed to say the least. I will share my picture to help me explain. The juice was watered down especially the orange juice. The other machine wasn’t even working. Many items were already gone and never replaced. I feel like the staff was doing their best with the few crew members present. We plan to stay here again in May for Texas State graduation. I hope to find the breakfast fixed!
