Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Cleveland-Richfield by IHG

The room was fine and the hotel was close to the I-80 intersection. What really wowed me, though, was the breakfast experience. Great choices and a wide variety. But it was the attendant Sam who really made the place shine--literally. Every place in the dining area was immaculate. She was even cleaning the windows. Her pleasant demeanor and helpful attitude should also be noted. Sam is a senior citizen and the service industry could learn a lot from her. I'm now more likely to stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

Staff was friendly and efficient. The bed was clean but hard.

The bathroom was very run down. We had to fix the slide shower doors just to get in. The floor was dirty in the corners. The elevator is probably ok, but I have never been on one as dirty or buncy. The elevator doors would open and the elevator was still moving.

Wide array of choices for breakfast. Complimentary water all day long. Happy hour ice cream.

The breakfast is very good. Lots of choices and pretty good coffee.

Location is sketchy. Work (DOT) trucks parked in the parking lot haphazardly. Hotel lobby, stairwells, elevator look beat. Some rooms are being renovated. Our room had a gnarly water/mildew stain on the bathroom ceiling. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It feels like this was an old facility that has recently been acquired and renovation is still ongoing. Price should reflect that. Pricey for what it is.
