"Holiday Inn Vandalia IL "

Room was clean although the carpet appeared a little old (maybe the color). The shower could use fresh caulk. Otherwise it was fine. Excellent breakfast and great location. Convenient to downtown restaurants. Stayed here before, three years ago. Would stay again.

Easy access on and off I70 but close enough that you do hear some traffic from the freeway. Didn’t keep us awake, though. Nice breakfast choices. Room was clean and comfy. Negatives: kinda noisy. Could hear noise from other rooms. Bath looked clean but caulking around tub needed to be cleaned and/or replaced.

"Animal control"

Loved the breakfast. Housekeeping was great.

Having the room key not working the 2nd night and having to go get it fixed. Or they fact I asked for a recite and didn't get it. And my husband almost got bit by a dog a guest didn't have control and not one come to check on him or ask guest to control their animals.

Quiet, clean, great air conditioner in the room. Staff very friendly. Missed breakfast, would have been nice if coffee and packaged goods were avaliable until 10a. Will definitely stay again when traveling thru.
