Holiday Inn Express Savannah - Historic District

We went to Savannah to celebrate our anniversary and my 65th birthday and were very happy to see that this hotel was located close to all the things we wanted to do and see in the historic district. Upon checking in, we realized that our 3rd floor balcony room was too noisy due to being right above busy Bay Street. We went back to the front desk to inquire about moving due to my husband being a light sleeper. Francoise was working the front desk and she was very polite and helpful! She explained that there wasn't anything available that night but could move us in the morning after checkout time. She specifically suggested a certain room on the 6th floor that she felt we would like much better and would suit our needs better. She made sure to leave detailed instructions for the morning crew so that there would be no confusion or inconvenience to us. We were allowed to leave our luggage in the first room as we has a 9:30am walking tour and move when we returned from that tour. So the next morning we went down to the desk and met Wanda. Another wonderful lady! She said yes she had seen Francoise's notes and would get us into the other room on the 6th floor as soon as it was empty and cleaned. She made sure that it was a priority and cleaned immediately. Upon our return we brought hour luggage down thinking we would have to store it while we went to lunch, but thanks to Wanda shortly after our new room was ready. Until we opened the door to our 6th floor room we didn't realize there was a reason Francoise chose that room for us. The views were incredible and the room was amazing!!! Both of these woman shared their southern hospitality with us to help make our anniversary weekend the best ever!! Francoise and Wanda are a great asset to this hotel and their warm and friendly personalities will make your day! Thanks again ladies and Holiday Inn for making our weekend a weekend to remember! There is still more that we weren't able to see in our 4 days so we will definitely be back!!

Nice hotel; good location

The staff was excellent, and the hotel was nice and clean. It was in a great location. This hotel really puts clients first, with a nice bar, a rooftop pool, and a sitting area with a great view of the Savannah River.

Breakfast wasn't that good. We got there pretty early one morning, and they were already out of the majority of the food. They should really have more breakfast staff. We didn't like the fact that room service was only every other day. One of the main benefits of staying in a hotel vs Airbnb is the daily room service.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and conveniently located to everything we wanted to see while we were visiting. All the staff were friendly and professional.

Expensive overnight valet.

Location was great. Elevator inspection was out of date Air conditioning blew straight down into the bed Breakfast was good. One morning things were running out around 845 and things didn't get replenished

Nothing really. Wasn't bad at all just a few things

This location is perfect for walking around the historic district. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. Wi-Fi worked well. Walls were a bit thin so noise could be a factor. Valet was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lackluster, rubbery omelets, bagels and bread for toast not restocked. Always a line for the coffee machine.

The location of the hotel in the historic district was great. So easy to get around and only one street away from River Street. The hotel itself was very nice. Wanda and the other staff upon check in were awesome and very helpful allowing us to store our bags until the room was ready. We paid extra for valet but it was well worth it.

The ice machine on our floor was broken and it seemed like our refrigerator either wasn't very cold or wasn't working. Otherwise we had a great stay.
