Candlewood Suites Junction City - Ft. Riley by IHG

Marietta, the Desk manager located at the CandleWood suites on Fort Riley is a phenomenal Hostess. She expressed professional hospitality & is always willing to help. Her warm, welcoming greeting upon every return on my extended stay brightened up my day every time.

No pool and not on base

Reserved a two-bed studio suite, but the room was very small and contained only one subsize bed and there was my wife and I (who normally sleep in separate beds). The small mattress was not much bigger than a full, certainly NOT a queen. The bed was too close to wall to get in and out on that side, and there was no table or lamp on that side. Could not close window curtain to shut off lights from the parking lot. Uncomfortable desk chair. Worst nights sleep I've had in a long time. Would not recommend this hotel.

There was no connection between what I reserved on Booking.com and what we were assigned for the night. I reserved a two-bed studio suite. When one makes a reservation on Booking for that Candlewood Suites, they are asked to choose between two full beds or one queen bed (for the category I was interested in). The "two-full beds" selection was qualified with the parenthetical "if available." What most normal people would assume that meant is "if a two-bed room is available upon reservation," as I did. Apparently, what the phrase means is "if a two-bed room is available upon ARRIVAL", which makes no sense to me and certainly not customer friendly. I had already paid the non-refundable rate, so I was stuck with this crappy situation. The desk was of no help, and she kept stating that she had no other room in the hotel that we could move to. I was not a happy camper, and thus the assigned rating of 2. I probably should have assigned a 1. Based on your reply, I had to edit my review. There were NO blackout curtains for the room. The bottom line is that you failed to honor my requests for a two-bed room, and was not forthcoming about the fact that you may not honor my request during the reservation process. An upfront property would have made it clear that my request for a two-bed room may NOT be honored, but you obscured the information to confuse me about what was being reserved. We won't be coming back, and I hope my review alerts others to do the same.

I stayed here for just 1 night with an advance reservation. Bobbie was fantastic at check in. I checked in later in the evening and I checked out early the next morning. My room was quiet, clean and comfortable. This place is exactly what I needed after a very long day of travel by airplane (delayed more than 5 hours) and then a 2 hour drive in pouring rain. I had my good nights rest and was refreshed enough to start early the next morning. If I ever come through the area again, I will definitely stay here!

Susana at the desk was very personable and accomodating. The value was great - we've paid much more for less space and amenities. I would probably pay a little more for few more accomodations that were lacking: luggage support racks that every hotel/motel in America has. A few more utensils in the kitchen (there was only enough for two people). Lotion in the bathroom. Ice. dishes and utensils clean and put away (not left in the dishwasher).

Everything was great

Great service and the staff are super friendly. We had a late check-in, and they were able to make the accommodations for us with no issues.
