this place is very clean The room was more than i could ask for staff are very friendly

We booked a suite with a kitchenette, it was stocked with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the fresh coffee that was available to guests. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would recommend this property to our friends.

The new reno is very nice.

This was our second stay at this hotel. They have recently remodeled/upgraded the rooms and they are very nice, clean and comfortable. There is now an upgraded AC/heating system that recognizes when you are in the room, has a controlled auto thermostat and is significantly quieter than the old system. The front desk is, as always friendly and helpful. Security is excellent both in the rooms and at the front with the entrance auto locking at 10PM. A great hotel in Oak Harbor!

Clean and comfortable

The fact that my reservation was not accurate upon arrival

We had two rooms, one updated and the other one was not. Both clean but nothing special. Front entry/lobby super dark and uninviting. Nothing special just a place to spend a night.

The desk clerk that checked us in and that we later encountered twice again was the #1 worst and rudest employee of any business we’ve stayed at in many years. She even lied to us twice about supposedly not have any small bars of hand soap (the hotel only supplied the room with liquid soap which I hate) and that they had no bottles of water for Platinum members. The desk clerks the next morning said they had both and offered to get us these which of course I no longer wanted the soap as we were checking out. This is the very first ihg hotel we have ever gone to that didn’t give us bottles of water for being platinum members. Also the hotel was recently partly renovated and the toilet in our room was not attached fully to the floor so moved when you used it. A green night light at eye level near the bed in the separate bedroom was bright and never went out all night and as it was on the wall you could not cover it with a towel.

Took my daughter on a 2-week road trip... We stayed at multiple motels in multiple cities and Candlewood was by far the nicest but nowhere near the most expensive. In fact, it was cheaper than most places but Head and shoulders above as far as quality of premises and staff
