Sawasdee Village

What a beautiful traditional Thai style hotel this is, even better than I imagined- completely stunning and such lovely smiley staff who cannot do enough for you. We had a room with pool access which was well worth the cost to cool off after a day at the beach. Very quiet and peaceful; Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone

I booked Sawasdee Village for a unique experience our last few days in Phuket. It felt like an oasis, with beautiful grounds and pools, comfortable room and friendly staff. They had decorated our room for my birthday and made sure there were no down pillows and comforter since we were allergic to feathers. The room was nicely decorated and appointed with plenty of counter and storage space, with separate closet/dressing room, sectioned off toilette and shower that walked out to the pool, patio with loungers. The bed was larger than most king sized mattresses and was very comfortable with nice sheets and pillows. The TV was also large and you can sign into most Apps to access shows and movies (Amazon, You Tube, etc.). There was a separate router for each room so that internet connection was never an issue. The mini fridge was large with a freezer section and they provided plenty of water (in recyclable glass) that was replenished daily. They provided 2 Starbucks coffee pods for coffee each day. The only downside was that the AC didn't get lower than a certain temperature, but was comfortable for most of the stay. There were plenty of amenities, including 2 large pools with bars providing drinks, including for happy hour 3-6pm. We didn't use the gym, but it looked nice with a good amount of machines and weights and never looked overcrowded. There was a pool and foos ball table. There was also a lounge area with tables, chairs and some coffee/tea and snacks if you wanted a place to read or do work or just rest. The buffet breakfast at the restaurant was ample; eggs to order (including scrambled with multiple ingredients), dim sum, congee, thai dish, fried rice, yogurt, cereal, baked goods, fruit, salad and the coffee machine that made lattes, macchiatos, cappuccinos, etc. They also have lunch and dinner at the restaurant. They provide a shuttle to the beach every hour from 9am - 6pm. Otherwise it's about a 10 minute walk to the beach but close to a lot of restaurants, massages and shops. Pros: amenities, comfortable bed and room, staff, breakfast Cons; AC didn't get very cold, distance from main area to our room as the property is large and spread out, mosquitoes (they provide repellants)

We first visited Sawasdee Village 19 long years ago, when it was quite a different place. At that time, a huge part of the resort was being constructed, so to see the place again in its completed and beautiful state was a joy to behold. It is a place of magic. Steps from the chaos of Kata, it holds a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere amongst its delightful artefacts, decorations and feeling of pure zen. Imagine being catapulted into a peaceful haven of gardens, pools and beauty as soon as you walk in from the street. Sawasdee Village is that place. The staff are lovely, and everyone staying at this resort were chilled out. Even though the place was full, you never got the sense of that, as you wandered amongst the many little trails that make this place a labyrinth of never-ending wonder. We stayed at a poolside Cabana Villa, which had its own steps into the never ending Thai Village pool (which really is something to behold), plus its own sun loungers. This pool, like the other (main) pool, has a swim up bar, which was lovely at happy hour in the afternoon. The bed was comfortable and huge, and the breakfast buffet was nice albeit not particularly extensive compared to other places. We did not eat at the restaurant in the evening so cannot comment on it. It was fantastic to return to this magical and unique place after so many years, and I have to say that whilst it has grown, it has done so very well indeed, retaining the charm that gave us so many good memories the first time around. You won’t find another place like this. If in doubt, book it and just soak the wonder in.

Myself and my wife spent a wonderful seven days at this hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left the service we received was incredible. All of the staff went out of their way to remember our names, were funny and courteous. A special mention to Roy who was one of the most amazing hotel employees I have ever met. Always smiling and made us laugh. It is a lovely resort, maybe needs a bit of a makeover, but even so is still a wonderful place to relax.

Avoid rooms 117 118 119 . Noisy with pool bar feet from your door these should not even be an option to rent No privacy with these rooms 😕 Highly recommended for romantic vacations with the stunning ambiance and close to shopping and many many restaurants and street food

We booked last minute for a night a kata beach the hotel is fantastic so beautiful the room was amazing the staff wonderful and we really enjoyed our experience we will definitely book for a longer stay next time we visit

Our second stay at this fabulous hotel. Friends came with us this time and were suitably impressed. Rooms are good with a decent bath/shower room. Staff are excellent, very friendly and obliging. Decor throughout the hotel is amazing. Breakfast is buffet style with a wide choice of western and local food. Location is good being just a very short walk from the main street with plenty of bars and restaurants around but we were never disturbed by any noise from the.

This property is amazing. The most beautiful thing is the customer service, the staff go the extra mile in making sure that customer needs are met and they always do it with a smile. The rooms we booked were a bit dated so they could do with some maintenance; the waterfall shower wasn’t hot enough and the doors in the bathroom were a bit stiff but other than this, the amenities are nice. The gym is a nice touch, top of the range gear. The dining area serves a combination of eastern and western cuisine with both choices extremely delicious. I would also recommend booking a spa treatment because you will feel rejuvenated after you’ve had one. I had the Thai Oriental massage and I wished I had booked another one. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Kata, this should be on your radar.

Our stay at Sawasdee Village Hotel was absolutely lovely. The resort is incredibly beautiful — lush, peaceful, and full of character, with stunning attention to detail everywhere you look. The amenities are excellent, and the staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location in Kata is great — close to shops and restaurants, and there’s even an hourly shuttle to the beach, which makes getting around super easy. The pools are gorgeous, and the entire place becomes magical at night with its soft lighting and tranquil atmosphere. A truly enchanting stay that feels like a hidden oasis in the middle of Kata
