Found the bed uncomfortable, the bathroom could do with some shelves or a cabinet.

Awful. Not charged as we made complaint. Sausages overcooked and hard. Inedible. Black pudding which my husband ordered did.not arrive with plate and was delivered to(him when he had finished

From the warm welcome at reception (so important ) our New Years Eve 2 night stay with friends was fantastic. The NYE reception and dinner great, food as always delicious. We came to this last year. Our sea view facing room was amazing with great views, with refurbished bathroom and bedroom lovely, my husband thought the water pressure wasn’t that great though. All the staff make this hotel so special. Your team are amazing Lindsay. We will return Thanks

The room smelled a little musty and the mattress was past its best. The menu was also very limited and it’s four things off.

I really like this hotel so I came back. Clean and comfortable. Nice lounge/ bar/ restaurant looking over the bay. Spa facilities. Later check out was appreciated.

We stayed at Grand Hotel Swanage for two nights on the 12th and 13th of January 2026, and despite the weather not being at its best, our stay was excellent. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, and we particularly loved the framed pictures displayed around the building, showcasing beautiful local scenes such as Corfe Castle. They added real character and a strong sense of place. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped, including a hairdryer. The shower room/bathroom was one of the best we’ve experienced, exceptionally clean, well maintained, and with a shower that was powerful and very easy to use. One of the highlights was the conservatory overlooking the sea. It was absolutely stunning, especially watching the sunrise this morning — a truly beautiful and peaceful experience. Breakfast offered a very good range of options. While it wasn’t a cooked breakfast, there was plenty to choose from, including cereals, yogurts, fruit, and a good selection of drinks, all fresh and well presented. Overall, we were extremely impressed with the hotel and would definitely love to stay here again.

Great hotel in fabulous location. Views over Swanage from the conservatory. Comfortable room, good breakfast and nice spa. Direct access to the beach via a number of steps.

Lovely staff / clean /great views/ sauna

Spa and gym are in the same open plan space which meant it could quite noisy (especially when someone was on the running machine) and wasn’t especially warm when you were moving from the sauna and pool. Jacuzzi was out of action but was lovely and warm , the sauna was a good size . I also had a good massage but again the gym noise was a bit annoying.
