Chawengburi Resort

Having gone up and down Chaweng, I'd say this hotel sits on the best part of the beach. The location is also convenient next to a lot of shopping and food options. The rooms and facilities are a bit tired though, and the property is infested with mosquitoes (maybe common at other hotels too). Overall at the price, its a good value for location alone.

From the moment we arrived we were disappointed. The lobby was dark and dismal. The room was small. Could not adjust water for shower, it was either hot or cold. There was no hot water in the basin. The soap was so small it wasn't enough for the two of us. The bed was so hard we actually couldn't sleep. As for the pillows they were so lumpy. To top it off everyday there were cockroaches in the room. The only good thing was the location and internet access. So dissappointed did not live up to our expectations. Will never stay there ever again. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Only 1 standard of 'villa' accommodation, don't be fooled by deluxe etc options. 1st Night a 40 cms cockroach ran over my head. I killed it and have its photo for anyone who would like to see it. A 40 cms centipede was in the bathroom and the mosquitos loved it here. No running hot water in the basin. No 32 inch flatscreen tv as promise. Accomodation overdue a refurbishment. Go to Buddy Oriental, Lamai beach at 60% the price and 100% better that I stayed at immediately prior to this.

Long story short, they messed up our reservation, but we still had a room, and the hotel WOWed us with their service to make up for it. This included them giving us a free dinner amongst other things, so we were quite happy. Then, sadly disappointed that it was one of the worst meals I have ever had in my life. So, skip the restaurant. Other than that, enjoy the views. Just be prepared to take a hike up hills. If you are looking for a getaway, this is the place. Did not have a chance to explore the area.

Quite good for relaxing right on the beach and I will come again its worth it

Have stayed here the last 4 years, not a single $ has been spent on this hotel, the rooms are small but comfortable but the beds are hard, the bathrooms are so outdated including the hot water service, while having a shower it kept going hot & cold, the front restaurant is now closed, the pool restaurant is only opened for lunch & the pool bar closes at 8pm. Emailed to get airport pickup for 2 different families at different times, they didnt turn up for either 1 when we asked why they told the 1st family they were told to pick up the 2nd family but told the 2nd family they didnt get them cos they picked up 1st family then told them they were too busy, when 2nd family arrived by taxi they were doing nothing. Needs a lot of work done to it as they still are charging the high prices. It has the best location but very ran down

A very nice resort. Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff is very warm and friendly. I have a walking problem and they provided a wheelchair, free of cost. Fantastic breakfast. Very nicely located. One side there is a lovely beach and other side, there are many restaurants and bars. A beautiful property.

The hotel was set in beautiful grounds with spacious individual rooms. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the whole hotel area was kept lovely. Last of all the staff were kind, friendly and nothing was too much of a chore for them. Excellent!!!!
