Interstate 8 Motel

Relatively clean considering the age and economy of the surrounding area. Running water has some color to it. Please consider investing in some new towels, these were some of the worst ever.

The big sign in front of their motel claims complimentary coffee, juice, and sweet rolls but we were told they’re not serving breakfast because of Covid 19. Come on, it’s June 2024, we’re over it, seems like a cop out.

The surroundings are not attractive, but I did not care. Helps keep the price down. The rooms were fine.

Reasonable

Check-in was easy and efficient. Desk clerk was pleasant and nice. We had 2 one-night stays about a week apart. The first room had a power issue that was quickly fixed by resetting the breaker. The rest of this stay was fine. The second room was on the ground floor and looked like it had been recently refreshed and painted. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. In the morning, we had the door open as we prepared to leave. Don't know if something snuck in while the door was open (hope so), but while we were in the room, something ran from under the dresser to under the bed... we reported the issue to the desk clerk. As we were leaving, they were coming to the room to check and resolve. Having encountered this, we would not choose to stay in a ground floor room again. We understand this is a rural area, but the incident was unsettling.

Staff/owner tried to charge me $20 more for my room even though I booked online. She kept saying that was the rate and I would have to pay the higher amount. I showed her the booking email and after several exchanges she finally said she would honor the rate I booked the room for. Very rude customer service.

The room was extremely small, the window heater was only a foot from the bed and very noisy as it came on and off all night. Worse of all, the water had a yellow tint to it and rust particles flowed into the toilet bowl. We didn't dare drink the water. I've stayed at better places in developing countries. Definitely not worth the $100.00!!
