Hampton Inn and Suites Alexandria

We've stayed at the Hampton Inn Alexandria before. We stay there when we are in town for the Minnesota High School Trapshooting State Championships. This hotel is well maintained over all. It's clean, even the hallway carpets are well maintained. The breakfast is on par with most hotels similar to this one. Our room was clean, the heat/cool unit worked well. The only negative is that the wall paper in the bathroom is starting to peel and maybe could use some attention. We reall appreciate the blackout blinds in the room. We like it really dark when we sleep and the blinds were a real plus. A couple things about breakfast. Some non stick spray for the waffle maker would be good. Otherwise I really appreciated the cooked oatmeal., it's something we rarely find on hotel breakfasts. The only other thing is the Hilton phone app and this isn't specifically about this particular hotel. But the Hilton app is a bit buggy. The digital room keys don't always work as good as they should. Several times mine showed that They were still processeing my digital key after we had already checked in. Then our last morning it kept saying we were checked out when we hadn't checked out yet. This is something the hotel should address with Hilton. If you're staying in Alexandria this is the hotel to choose.

Before I made a reservation for two rooms, I called the hotel to ask if they had connecting rooms, and if we can reserve them. I was told yes to both questions. The man on the phone just said to make the reservation on expedia and then call back and he would make the rooms connecting. I did as he instructed and everything was set for our stay. Fast forward several weeks and we arrive for our stay. Our rooms are not connected, and the front desk lady have me some serious attitude for asking what happened.

The stay was good. 3rd year in a row for Clay Target League. The only complaint I have is that the toilets are soooo low. Are they made for toddlers?

Quick and easy.

The shower was very poor—either hot or cold. There was no warm setting. We were told that it was the distance from the water supply. My husband said it was more likely the faucet valve. $200 is a lot to pay for a room that you cannot take a shower in. Probably wouldn’t stay there again for this reason.

Check-in was quick and the room was quiet and comfy.

We went Alexandria MN for Easter to see our son. I had stayed here before, the beds were very comfortable, and didn't want to get up each day we were there.

I parking lot needs to be marked so people can see where they need to parked!!! Some of the cars were over the line if there was any lines. Others DON'T know how to park their vehicle.
