Smugglers Cove Beach Resort and Hotel

Nice hotel I stayed in room 313 which was small but comforatable and clean. I got a good price for my stay I was not expecting a 5 star just needed an economy hotel to make Island Tours duing the day and Smugglers was perfect for this. Most important the staff was very freindly and always with a smile making you feel welcome.

We stayed at Smugglers Cove for one week. It was more like a hostel than an actual hotel( we didn’t know that) We are in our mid 60s and that is not our travel preference these days. We paid extra for the “premium deluxe” room and it was a joke. We looked straight into the roof of one building and the side of another. No view at all. The bed was not comfortable. We could literally feel the springs popping through the bed. We are not fussy but the room was bad!! The room was very dirty. Housekeeping came to clean the room 4 times out of the 7 days we stayed there. And even then it wasn’t cleaned until late afternoon. We had to wash our own towels as apparently that isn’t included. The first day I found 3 cockroaches in our room!! The hotel is in serious need of revamping. It is extremely run down. Not somewhere you want to vacation unless you have no other choice. We tried to make the best of it and be positive about the place. We ordered food and drinks at the restaurant and, once again, we were disappointed!! It took an hour for the food. The drinks were good but the food was not good at all. On Saturday and Sunday night they had entertainment by the pool. That would have been great if it didn’t last until 12:00 at night. It reverberated up to the rooms and there was no way to attempt to sleep. (Probably great for a hostel but not a hotel). The beach was very dirty with some seriously undesirable people on it. Also on top of everything else the internet was a joke! I thought maybe it was just Fiji but everywhere else we went we were able to get great internet. When I complained about the cleaning( or lack there of) I got asked which room we were in…. Then nothing…. They didn’t clean at all!!! It’s the lack of any apathy and appalling conditions that make me choose to give this review as typically I prefer to remain positive. Our experience in Fiji was unfortunately tainted by our stay in this establishment and I just want to forewarn others not to stay there.

Stained sheets, hair in bed, dirty bathroom/shower, murky water in pool, door closing issues. Expedia was not helpful when trying to move, they informed mgmt of my displeasure and within minutes I had multiple ppl in my room saying where’s the stains and hair. If you want to relax, avoid. I am very disappointed in Expedia for not refunding me because they promoted this property and made it unsafe for me.

Have been spending the past week at Smuggler’s Cove and enjoying the friendly staff. They are more than happy to attend to your every need. Thanks so much to Praneel in the restaurant . He is very attentive and has the memory of an elephant!! Remembered our drink preference without evening asking! 😉 Thanks for making our stay so memorable!

Beach water not as clean as other locations

Amazing location all staff are Amazing and very helpful. Rooms are nice and kept will clean. The views are beautiful a quick walk down stairs and your at the beach. Pool is beautiful and well maintained great for a quick dip if your not a fan of swiming in the ocean. Most if not all tour operators in Nadi will pick you up from the hotel lobby which is a really nice and easy.
