I like the name of hotel. That is one positive.

They came in my room even with my do not disturb sign and never explained why they did it. I felt violated and unsafe as American there. I left a day early. Muslim call to prayer was too loud. I am not Muslim.

"Reasonable price and good location for the Old City."

5.0

Near the old city and very close to Herod’s gate, with Damascus gate only a little further away. The room I was in was clean and had a decent shower.

The hotel is located in a rather shabby area, but seemed safe. The cafe/ bar on the 4th floor was closed the whole time. There was a loud buzzing when the electronic room key was installed (for lights etc), so removed it at night, which stopped phone charging. The small fridge made a racket, so unplugged it. The breakfast buffet was simple, but ok. Paper cups for coffee from a flask. Receptionist outside the front having a smoke. Checkout was 1200, but maid seemed unhappy when she knocked on the door before 9am and I said I’d be leaving in about 40 minutes.
