"good service"

our stay was good the staff were very helpful and friendly. breakfast was good, in the evening i had a chilli which was very good in taste but very small in quantity,and far to much rice for the small amount of meat.My husband's meal was also good but let down by frozen chips.

"Business overall stay review"

It fitted my requirements for a business over night stay, Room & Hotel was clean & staff friendly on arrival. Food at night pub grub & breakfast good. Am stay for a furthure night this week

"QUIRKY"

Very welcome change to the usual plastic hotel ,i,e lodges.To late for kitchen services but had a very nice pizza. Staff very friendly.and helpful

"A reasonable stay"

I stayed at the Bell last year, and so this year it was a natural choice when staying in Newbury again. Somehow it didn't feel as good, although the service and food were ok, even if dinner seemed a bit on the pricey side. The room was functional and comfortable. Only quibble I had was that they tried to charge me for the stay when I checked out even though I had already paid. Took a bit of convincing but as I had a copy of the email they agreed I had paid!

"lovely dog friendly place to stay"

"Nice country inn, but difficult to fing."

Room was comfortable and recently refurbished. However, the outlook was onto a very messy and unkempt courtyard which spoiled the overall aspect of the room. The heater didn't work, but staff dealt with the problem promptly by bringing an oil heater. The dinner menu after 6.30pm was limited to pizzas; ours was tasty. Breakfast was full English and satisfying. The bar and retaurant decor was cosy and welcoming.

"Pretty location and very good food."

The staff were very pleasant and the room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom a bit squashed, especially the basin for shaving, although the shower was good. Food and wine were very good.
