Hotel Golden Lamb

Good hotel. Front desk called twice to see when we would arrive. We showed up the time we gave them but they didn’t have anyone to check us in. Waited 15 minutes for front desk to show up and let us in. Large rooms, very comfortable and excellent central location.

The hotel is located in a historical building reconstructed recently, so the furnishings are brand new, as are the bathrooms, so it's quite nice. The rooms are spacious, with large windows and tall ceilings. The beds are on the soft side, but despite my preference for harder mattresses, I slept really well. There is workspace and the internet connection is solid. It's located super conveniently, in the heart of the spa town, where two of the colonnades meet, and as there are several pedestrians only areas, La Bohemia is one of the few hotels in the vicinity, which can have a cab stop right in front of the entrance. The staff is wonderful and will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. This being a boutique hotel, the staff is small, and not all of them have broad language skills, although some are fluent in several. Also, it seems to be half-way between a hotel and vacation apartments, in that the front-desk hours are limited, and the daily housekeeping may not always be available: if you expect fresh towels and fresh linens everyday, be sure to communicate it in advance. There is no AC, which might be an issue for some, but the building stays pretty cool in the summer, it seems. Also, while the front desk is closed after 10pm, the staff is on call, and it has not been an issue. Overall I had a really pleasant time, and would stay here again, and in fact have already recommended the place. Considering the value for the price, it's a great deal.
