Eco Resort Chiang Mai

I absolutely loved the location of Eco Resort in Chiang Mai. It was within walking distance of 7/11 and many fabulous restaurants while still being outside of the busy city. It felt like an oasis in the jungle, which was a pleasant relief for someone that isn't a fan of city noise. But, Old City is only a 20-25 minute walk from the hotel, which was perfect for when we didn't want to get a grab. The rooms are smaller than traditional hotels, but they were very comfortable and had great AC! There were plenty of outdoor cozy areas at the resort to relax that were completely surrounded by nature, making for a serene vacation. I absolutely loved staying at Eco and will be choosing it at my hotel for all future visits to Chiang Mai!!

In some of the rooms, the curtains aren't very good at actually blocking out the light, making it rather difficult to sleep for someone that is light sensitive. I was able to remedy this by hanging my towels over the window to block out a little bit more of the light. This is only for some of the rooms; the rooms that face the backside of the "dorm" building do in fact get dark at night. The staff is very easy to work with, though, and would happily switch the room if there was significant problems with it.

The swimming pool is amazing. I only swam once because the water was too cold for me. I think they top it up with cold water every morning. But I enjoyed looking at it while sitting outside. The buffet breakfast was okay; not worth writing home about, but in a beautiful setting.

I really wish hotels put bedside lamps in the rooms; They’re not expensive and some people still read books before bed.

Comfy beds, good air con, clean - lovely pool area, laundry facilities, restaurant in house.

Mooi resort met mooi groot zwembad. De rust na 22 uur mag wel wat beter gewaarborgt worden. De tweede nach is er herrie geweest tot 2 uur snachts. Waar ik mijn kamer had lag ook naast de dorms. Vanuit de receptie moet dit hoorbaar zijn geweest. Ontbijt is ok maar met alleen getoast brood wat weinig variatie. Veel warm asiatisch ontbijt

Eco Resort has a big pool and a nice garden. The staff are friendly.

Everywhere was very loud and there a lot of mosquitoes and no mosquitoes nets in the rooms even though it says on the description that there are. A warning to anyone staying at Eco Resort - if you are in the rooms with shared bathrooms you will hear all the movement of people walking through the floor. It is old wood which used to be fine and now is very creaky. The Dulux Rooms with private bathrooms are also very noisy, you can hear all movement in the room above your room. Also, the rooms says there is a Garden View - there is no view at all, the windows are slated and frosted so you cannot see out. This makes the room very dark. I wanted to leave but could not get a refund. I was given 3 nights extra free of charge and I downgraded by room. I will not choose Eco Resort Again. This is sad. I have enjoyed staying here in the past. I think it has got dated now. Many better places to stay for better value.
