Savoy Hotel

When we arrived, the front desk staff canceled the pre-paid transaction through Expedia and charged my card again. Their explanation was that they needed to confirm our identity in person. This is the reason for taking out a star. I didn’t like these additional transactions. They let us drop off our luggages and bags before the check in which was very helpful. The rooms are clean and the AC works great. There are 2 small elevators. Since we had our luggages, 5 of us had to take 2 elevators. Some reviews mentioned loud noise at night. It was really quiet. The convenient store in adjacent to the hotel, had coin laundry: 3 washers and 1 dryer. You can get 1 detergent pod for W1,000 from the convenient store. Ask for it at the cashier. Washer and Dryer costs W3,000 for each load.

Excellent location. If you arrived past 10pm, go around to the main hotel entrance. There is a mini convenience store next to the hotel. The major food stalls, shops, restaurants etc are all 5min walk around the hotel.

The best thing about the hotel is the location which is right inside the very vibrant Myeongdong street. There is also a convenience store right befow the hotel that is very helpful for us for supplies, drinks and snacks. The staff are also very helpful during our stay and the room is big enough for our family of four. However, the hotel is pretty dated and there are areas in need of touching up. We also had issues with the toilet - both with the size and layout, and also had chockage on two occasions during our stay. While the front desk resolved the choke for us, the experience did leave a slight sour taste. Overall, for the location, the pricing is also good and reasonable.

Family visit 4 nights. Amazing location and spacious room. Breakfast ok but not buffet. Same breakfast American or Korean options each day.

We prepared our trip for no hot water, no toilet paper, the toilet unable to flush, and no drinking water due to the past reviews. However, all of those expectations were totally inaccurate and we had a lovely stay. Guest services spoke English very well, beyond our expectations.

Pros: great location, water refill station available Cons: noisy, hard and uncomfortable mattress, you will be charged if you lose room key, shower sprays out to bathroom floor so it’s inconvenient, small bathroom, floor is carpeted so not sure how clean it is, elevator is very tiny Overall it’s ok for price and hotel needs some updates we will not be returning to this hotel

Loved the property, literally steps away from shopping, eating, metro. So convenient!

The location is amazing. The cost benefit isn't the best. I was hoping more for the high price payed. The room was a little bit small.
