Admiral Hotel

Nice views from the restaurant/terrace area. Lift for suitcases. Good selection of breakfast food/teas/coffees. Overall good location for us to be based at for trips to Pompei & Capri. Just be careful when booking a room with a balcony that it says marina view as ours was a side sea view, but the pictures on booking.com showed the marina so that was disappointing. I only booked about 8 weeks in advance & there were only 2 options at that point, room with/without a balcony so I probably should have checked. Tips on buses from the Marina up to the main square/station. We walked up everyday, but on our last day with our suitcases we took a bus. Reception told us they came at 25 past hour when we asked. There are no signs/timetables, just a painted rectangle on the floor. There was one already there when we arrived, he said cash only. We went to the cash machine opposite (literally 5metres away) & the bus drove off. (I think this was a shuttle bus I had previously seen at the bus/train station as it just had a printed sign in the window)The then scheduled bus at 25past came, we had our cash. This bus said to buy tickets in the shop opposite! Luckily this one waited. We think this was a local bus as it had the electronic sign on the front. So have cash/buy a ticket in the shop opposite.

Bar staff & breakfast staff were friendly, but the reception staff weren’t overly helpful. We had travelled through Italy staying in various locations where they gave maps, walking routes & restaurant tips. We weren’t given anything here on arrival, luckily I had researched myself. They had various large groups of visitors throughout our stay & it seemed they were given preferential treatment over other guests. Just my opinion.

The bed was a little uncomfortable, but that was just a minor inconvenience. Can't take away from the experience, which was fantastic.

The views were incredible, and we really enjoyed the staff as they were very kind and attentive.

They will be doing upcoming renovations to the property. I am looking forward to that as It is a bit dated in the rooms, but you cannot beat the views. I did not like the fact that they did not want you to take any food to the room, but if they delivered it to your room. As in room service. That was fine with me them My husband and I Love, the bread ,pastries and coffee in Italy. One of the main things. We love about Italy on top of the architecture. So the coffee here was not good. We found ourselves Just leaving the hotel to go get decent coffee. We stayed at a bed and breakfast. A couple days before this. Also in the same City , and they had the most wonderful. Lavzza automatic espresso, cappuccino maker. The coffee was amazing, and we were not charged for it. I even joked with my husband that I would love to go back to the bed and breakfast. Just for the coffee. This is not a four-star Hotel, and even after renovations. I’m not sure if it will be, but I am definitely curious to see how it turns out after they’ve done the renovations. I noticed that they cleaned often and the staff stay busy. One thing they could work on is having somebody passed through the stairwell hourly. If not every two hours. Just to remove any bottles or food product that someone just set in the hallway, they shouldn’t leave bottles, empty bottles, and things out. If Staff member walks by that they should just pick all of it up and throw it away. I really did not like passing by seeing it there. It just looked gross If I ever go back to Sorrento, I’m definitely gonna go by there. I would love to see this place after the renovations. It has a lot of potential, and the views are amazing. !

Az elhelyezkedés, a panoráma fantasztikus. Az étterem kiváló, és kedvezményt adott az ott lakóknak.

A szoba elég kicsi, a bőröndök alig férnek el benne. A WC -deszka szerelésre szorul. A "tengerre néző szoba" valójában egy belső sziklafalra néz, csak a szoba egyik sarkából és az erkélyről lehet látni a tengert.

Hotel has fantastic views. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast included was a bonus. We ate in the hotel one night and it was very good - residents get a 20% discount. Rooms are cleaned every day but looked a little the worse for wear as it was end of high season. Scuffed walls and paintwork etc. I paid for a room with a partial sea view. See my pics. No iron in room, they will provide a travel iron but often not very powerful/useful. Lovely restaurants nearby. We had trouble finding the hotel as it doesn't seem to be pinned properly on Google maps so had to drag our cases a long way. Get the transfer bus from Sorrento Train Station to airport about 13 euros as taxis are extortionate!
