Hotel has been updated and a good option for a quick night stop.

Check in went well enough. But we got there around 9:30pm to check in, got our room and then went to retrieve our things from the car (we had a sleeping toddler and didn’t want to disturb them for check in) Once we came back inside, the night staff was at the door of our room and said that she was “checking to make sure everything was all set for us” I said thank you and didn’t thing much of it. However, upon entering the room, we were hit with a brick wall of smell. It was musty as if the carpets had been wet down and never properly dried. A mixture of humidity and mold. My husband immediately took the filters out of the air conditioning unit and washed them out in the tub. It didn’t improve the smell though. Over all, it wasn’t a horrid experience as we just needed a place to shower and sleep for a few hours. So we were able to bear the smell. But if you are here for an extended stay, please be aware that you may encounter this same issue.

I stayed for three nights while visiting Sewanee. The housekeeping is excellent, the staff are hardworking always and the property is well maintained.

The lobby and elevator were not very clean. Room smelled strange like someone sprayed to mask a smoking smell and didn’t even have a chair. Sketchy characters hanging out in the lobby. I will not book again when I visit the area next time.

Very respectful, clean spacish rooms, with comfortable beds, would book here again
