"Disappointing Accommodations. Great Staff."

4.0

The hotel, furniture, and common areas are tired and worn. There tv was pixilated the first night and didnโ€™t work at all the second. Our room only had one window and it was so high on the wall that you couldnโ€™t see out of it. The rooms are clean and the shower was good. The best part of our stay was the hotel staff. They all were friendly, helpful and took pride in whatever job they were doing. Breakfast was very good.

Location, price, breakfast.

On-site parking is limited to valet parking, but city parking across the street. Wooden furniture in the room shows wear and tear.

"Perfect location. Great experience. We would stay here again."

10.0

We stayed this past weekend, 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs. We had a room with 2 double beds and a pullout couch. We slept very comfortably. The hotel neat, clean, beautiful, and unique. Location couldnโ€™t be more perfect. Once the valet parked our car, we were able to leave it and walk everywhere. The staff was very courteous and pleasant. I read in previous reviews that inside the rooms you could hear people in the rooms all around you. We did not have that experience. We never heard a thing once. I read the bathrooms gross and rust stains everywhere. We never saw that. Our bathroom was very clean and stain free. People complained the rooms were too small. We did not find that to be the case. They had a free breakfast every morning and a cocktail hour every evening. We did not participate in the breakfast and my husband did participate in the cocktail hour one time, which he enjoyed. I really have no complaints about this hotel. Itโ€™s so dog friendly. Itโ€™s so convenient to have Marion square directly next to the hotel. I had somewhere to walk our dogs and have fun with them. I had my dog bags but they provide them all throughout the park. They even have dog water fountains throughout the park. If I would have a complaint, it would be that I got an alert on my phone to check-in early, so I did. I was able to pick my exact room, and be able to skip the front desk when I arrived and go straight to my room using my digital key. Well we arrive and it said I have to show my ID to the front desk, and they didnโ€™t have my credit card on file, or give me the room I chose. So not sure what that was all about. I really enjoyed the digital key so I didnโ€™t have to worry about having my key every time I left my room or keep track of it. We would definitely stay here again.

"Not Worth The Stay"

4.0

We stayed here in April 2025 while participating in the Charleston Bridge Run. I just spoke to John from Hilton Vacations who encouraged me to post a review, even though our stay was 6 months ago. My husband and I are both Hilton Honor members and really try to stay at Hilton properties when traveling. In all our experiences, this is hands down the most run-down and dirty Hilton Hotel I've stayed in. While at dinner, our room flooded due to a burst pipe and we got a phone call from the hotel, We rushed back and there were 4 people crammed in our room, with all our stuff! The craziest part was the plumber's girlfriend was there, waiting for him, plus 2 maintenance people just talking and sitting around. It was so odd! We moved our stuff to another room, were there for 10 minutes when we realized the AC was broken. We had to move to a third room and get re-settled. This was all the night before the bridge run, when I was getting up at 4 am the next morning. It was not a peaceful night. The front desk did not apologize or seem to care we had a negative experience. These rooms are dirty (carpet, mold in grout in bathroom, etc) and you should not stay here.

Most of the staff was exceptional, until we had a issue it wasnt resolved

We booked a king corner suite for my wife's 40th birthday weekend. We were downgraded to two twin beds at check-in. Apparently they overbooked themselves. Very uncomfortable hot room. We didnt sleep well at all

"You can do better nearby"

4.0

Our second stay at this hotel. Incredible how far downhill it has gone since we were previously here. The rooms are in shambles. The tiles in the bathroom floor were loose without grout, not a single towel holder, except on the back of the door that would not stay open. Rust stains around the faucets in the bathroom. The toilet, not fixed to the floor it rocked back-and-forth. When we spoke to the front desk, they were completely understanding, as well as sympathetic. They did give us financial compensation, which was the correct thing to do. Beds were comfortable and clean. On the upside, the entire staff were very accommodating, and nice. The morning breakfast as well as the evening social weโ€™re both nicely done. There is a $48 a day valet charge, and not much of a choice as only street parking nearby available. We were informed that there is a planned complete renovation in 2026, I just wish I had looked at reviews prior to booking this hotel. The rates should be much lower than they are, as there are several options in the immediate vicinity more fairly priced.

Clean room but very outdated For instance, if wall was repaired it was not painted over, no full length mirror, little attention to detail. Breakfast was not good at all. Outdated hotel for a very pricey nightly fee. Ridiculous that we had to pay almost $50 per night to park. Would not come back to stay nor recommend to others
