La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Morgan City

The first room that was given to us was not good. First when we turned on the AC it was leaking and it had a burt smell. We were going to call front desk, but guess what? No phone! We walked down to the front desk to ask for another room and the lady was nice to accommodate us, but the second room was even worse! There was a dead roach in the bathroom, they were only 3 pillows in the room and the pillows were not even firm… they felt overly used, the bathroom had patches on the wall, the toiletries were not clean. This property was old.

Let me start by saying the staff is polite and helpful and as professional as they can be. But the condition of this property is in dire straits. It is very run down. From the hallways, bathrooms, rooms, etc. And the worst part of all is the roaches. Not talking a cockroach or two which can happen in the south. I'm talking infestation. Little to medium sized ones. Lots. Don't bring and food in the room. They will swarm. We bright a poyboy back from the labor day festival. Didn't get a chance to eat it so say it on the tv stand. It was in a Styrofoam container. Woke up the next morning and it was covered in roaches. My husband had a thermos of coffee from the night before. They'd crawled in there too. They were even in the bathroom just in the tub. I was glad we were checking out that morning. We ran outta there so quick. Please note there had been NO FOOD in the room at all prior to that night. We only stayed two nights. Please get an exterminator.

Being a brand hotel we were disappointed with the lack of up keep needed in the room. Overall the furniture has been well worn. I had to rehang the curtains for privacy. The drawers were sticky on the outside. The tub had several chips in the porcelain. The bed and bedding were very low standards. The sofa was well worn. The room phone was inoperable. Hair dryer not readily available in room because of theft but available upon request. The staff was pleasant and the complimentary breakfast was okay.

There are no phones in the rooms, so you must utilize your cellphone to call the front desk and hope someone answers. I asked for my linen to be changed for 2 days and it never was. Room was never cleaned.

Pool was unsafe, there was no pool furniture to even sit in, breakfast was the same and cold every morning. Tv service kept going in and out.

First of the condition of the hotel was appalling. When we tried to check in 20 minutes early we were told they only had two cleaners and they were not finished with the room. The hallways were musty, the furniture in the room appeared to have been chewed by dogs and there was dog food on the carpet in our room (well, I’m praying it was dog food). To top it off, when I noticed there were two little bottles of conditioner and no shampoo, I went to the front desk where the young man at the desk proceeded to tell me that they were completely out of shampoo. He did offer to give me an address of the nearest place where I could go buy some. I couldn’t believe it. Oh, and the breakfast - geeze, there were no napkins, hardly any food and when I went to use the microwave to heat up the hockey puck biscuits, it was filthy! We left and ate elsewhere.
