Matsui Bekkan Hanakanzashi

What an amazing experience. The perfect blend of authentic Japanese culture and modern comfort. We cannot recommend this ryokan enough. It was a truly special experience that we will never forget. First off, the location is only a 5 minute walk from the train station, and close to all Kyoto as to offer. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome and iced green matcha to cool us off from the August heat. The staff walked us to our room and showed us around. The room had wonderful amenities, from the green tea station with hot water to the traditional Japanese robe that we lounged in every evening. The futons were surprisingly very comfortable! And the air conditioning worked very well. We slept so comfortably every night. We even had sake tasting delivered to the room one evening, and there was in-room massage available that we would have indulged in had we more time. We added on the breakfast for our second morning, highly recommend! Im sure the dinner is just as good. 10/10 stars, we will always remember our time at Matsui-Bekkan

Nice location but not very central. The ryokan apartment was nice but didn’t look very authentic. The young guy who showed us the room was very kind and respectful.

The staff wasn’t very helpful. The lady at the reception made everything fast and quick, and didn’t add much information. It was our first time in Kyoto and we wanted to walk around. We asked for suggestions pointing at the map on the counter, she pretended not to understand what we were asking. I found this very rude.

La habitación es preciosa y todo el personal hace que disfrutes de una experiencia única. Detallistas al máximo, ni un pero. El baño con la bañera espectacular.

No es que no nos gustara, pero no estamos acostumbrados al desayuno tradicional

Beautiful hotel . If someone would like to Japan cultural experience I would strongly recommend to stay here . Located in central part . Staff is so supportive . They definitely would like to make your experience exceptional

Beautiful property with a lovely touch of Japanese culture & history . Very nice spacious rooms. Great Japanese bath downstairs. IAnd the staff was amazing
