Hyatt House Salt Lake City/Sandy

The coffee was bitter and undrinkable. the omelet station was hidden in the corner behind the coffee station. There was no hot water for hot chocolate. A towel from the cleaner was left on the floor in our room. The room was very small.

I stayed at the Hyatt House Salt Lake City/Sandy for a 2-day business trip. The location was convenient and close to my office, and the complimentary breakfast was quite good. However, I was assigned to a room designed for accessibility, with a closet that was very low to the ground, which made it a bit inconvenient. Overall, it was an okay stay — suitable for a short visit.

Stayed here for a couple of nights recently on a business trip. Great experience overall. I really like the Hyatt House brand due to the size of the rooms and the separate living room and kitchen areas, hence the 'House' in Hyatt House. The rooms themselves are nice. Not the most modern so if you're expecting something sleek and modern/shiny, this ain't it. Instead it's an older/simpler design which is perfectly fine for a comfortable few nights when traveling. The bathroom is a good size, clean and the shower has very good water pressure. All the staff that I interacted with were wonderful. Friendly and genuinely seemed to care about my stay. I had a big issue getting to Utah and kept in touch with the hotel staff over text, which they were great at. It's affordable, clean, well staffed and was a very good location for my trip. I'd def stay here agin if I'm back in SLC.

Took 30minutes to get checked. Staff had confusion with Booking.com reservation. Manager ended up having to print out booking.com digital card for Payment and advised booking.com coded the stay as a pay at the property not prepaid. Once that was discovered the hotel tried charging me the difference between what I paid booking.com (189.89 after $50 discount code from MCDonalds) and the listed rate (209.96). After explaining that I had a code for a $50 discount on the booking.com website. The staff then wanted to charge me the tax on the room, plus deposit. After explaining to staff that booking.com collected all necessary taxes (staff used calculator to determine) it was settled that only the deposit was required. This was quite frustrating as two other hotel guests were checked in and left while I waited and had to explain/discover this process. Accommodations were comfortable but couch and dining room bench had old visible stains. Staff did advise that there had been a number of vehicles broken into in there parking lot and not to leave valuables in vehicle and try to park closer to doors. Front parking lot had several lights out causing a darker then desired parking situation.

The freeway noise was louder than expected which made sleeping a bit difficult

It's a very clean and quiet place. They have a varied and delicious breakfast. The staff is very friendly and attentive to guests' needs. It's in a good location, close to many restaurants and a mall.
