Location, location,location! Basic facilities adequate, good wifi. Wonderful wildlife and excellent bird photography opportunities.

It is beginning to look a bit tired and scruffy. Woodwork and paintwork fading indoors and out, bathroom very faded and dated. Furniture aging and sagging. A bit surprised given the daily rate that there was no coffee, tea or milk provided. There was however, sugar for making a syrup for the (broken) bird feeder! Broken bedroom heater. Bed not fully made up

The view

Under the weather conditions this property was not fit for purpose, wind blew in through cracks around door. Walls had water running down them, aluminum joinery was constantly wet, and carpets were damp. No working heater in bedroom. Fire hadn't been cleaned and was full of ash.

Stunning location. Beautiful views, close to town, secluded and private Comfortable bed and furniture, warm heater, fire available

This cottage is a little dated, but mostly it was the value for money.....no shampoo or soap,no sugar, tired decor, cleaning not up to scratch, mildew on curtain linings, lack of maintenance, icebox broken icy!

The location - peaceful, lovely view of Akaroa township. Woodburner worked well, plenty of kindling and logs. Wifi worked well. Kitchen is small (no oven) but okay for a single cook / simple meals. We enjoyed the short walk from Overton Cottage to Akaroa via the mostly private walkway. Much nicer and safer than walking beside the highway. Take a torch if walking back at night.

Would be nice to have kitchen sponge, rubber gloves and cleaning cloths for bathroom supplied. Dead insects behind curtains, carpet needs vacuuming but no vacuum cleaner available.
