Lake Grassy Inn & Suites

Lovely patio area to rear of room overlooking the lake. Warm welcome from host and good dinner recommendation at Tabby’s bar, a couple of miles down the road.

Property is looking tired but I’m sure owner has plans. Although towels, bedding was clean it was discoloured and faded.

The view from the window was great however note you cannot walk out on the little boardwalk as it looks dangerous and is private property ….

Inside the building is dated which is not a problem if it was cleaner… and things provided were fresh, appropriate and tidy (kitchen).. Our room smelt fusty, as did the air con unit. Bathroom was clean however the previous occupants had left underwear hanging in the bathroom, towels smelt fusty ( didn’t use them) Kitchen area poor ….dishwasher was mouldy , washing up still left out drying on sink , cupboards messy, old dirty sponge, equipment dated, mismatched crockery and cutlery set incomplete. Attention to these details would make a huge difference The room was obviously not checked before we arrived ? fridge noisy as full of ice , black mould in windows ….. such a shame as location & view great …

The room was like a small apartment. Walking out the back door and the view of the lake.

Always stay here when I'm in town. Best to stay at. Views and all.

Room was dirty and never came to do house keeping

Basic room with no frills. The bed was comfortable and the ac was adequate. There are no ice trays in the refrigerator and I did not see an ice machine at the hotel. Perhaps one can get ice in the office. Bring your own hand soap. The coffee maker was molded inside from the lack of cleaning out the filter from an earlier user. We enjoyed the nice views over Grassy Lake and the proximity to Archbold Biological Reserve. You are on your own for breakfast. A Winn-Dixie is about 2 miles away and Tabby’s excellent restaurant is about 4 miles north. For almost $200 a night at Grassy Lake we will stay at some other place in Lake Placid in the future. Incidentally, all 12 rooms face the lake. Don’t reserve a room with an additional charge for a lake-view.

Outward appearance of hotel is less than impressive. Room was OK. Although it is right on Rt 27, it was quiet inside. View was great. Beautiful lake.

Pans. No sauce pans in kitchen. 1 frying pan so badly scratched we were afraid to use it. Only given 1 roll of toilet paper at a time. Ran out twice. Only a little hand soap was given. We ran out. Owner was nice and quickly gave us what we needed, but why not stock up for guests? At this price, you don't expect to run out of necessitates. Mosquitos! This whole area is lakes, beautiful lakes, but the swarms of mosquitoes covered the windows and doors at night and required constant application of repellant.
