Best Western Plus Tree House

We've stayed at the Best Western Plus in Mount Shasta many times before, it being very convenient for us when we travel between Washington and the Bay Area. It's a beautiful location. The rooms are very nice, plenty of seating and not crowded and everything always works. This time our reception seemed a little curt but after that everyone was friendly and helpful. We needed a toothbrush and something else which was readily and quickly provided. Checkout was seamless. There are several interesting restaurants nearby - an Indian restaurant, which we tried, and the Black Bear diner. The latter is about 200 feet away from the motel. I have recommended this place to others and here do to you.

On-site pool and restaurant, easy access from highway

The rooms are numbered by building, not floor. (200 rooms in building 2, 100 in 1, etc.). Because of the remodel, it was challenging to find Rm 229. Our waitress was new and being trained. She was a nice as you could be. The person training her was abrupt and condescending to her, publicly correcting and reminding her how to do things. The free menu is limited, and she frequently reminded her to tell people, when it clearly says it on the car you get with check-in.

Clean, close to freeway

Breakfast was suppose to be included. I paid extra for breakfast for my booking and the staff said that was misinformation. However, I showed staff that breakfast was included and they refused to honor it. So disappointing 😞

Close to town

Hotel is extremely loud. Other guests above us very loud until late at night. Construction is also going on throughout the day. It's right next to the freeway. Truckers also use the parking lot and idol there rigs at all hours of the night. You won't get any sleep at this place

Overall we liked our stay here. We were glad we had off season pricing as we would not pay regular prices that are charged in Summer. The staff is excellent and that is everyone we encounterd. The property is clean but feels quite dated and dark. The rooms are dark even with all of the lights on. We had a room in the back facing highway 5. Yes it was noisy. The hotel needs to upgrade the interiors as they have an old wooden aesthetic that just isn't current at all given their price level. The food was outstanding for breakfast. Its a nice hotel but we had a discounted rate as its off season.
