This resort is very quiet with only 16 rooms and not next to any other establishments. It’s a 2 hour drive from the airport - I suggest sticking near Port Denaurau to get the most of your holiday and if you like a bit more of a social scene. The resort does offer free airport pick-ups, but they were 45min late which made us nervous. The driver was very nice though and the car was comfortable. Rooms are large and comfortable with A/C and loved the outdoor shower. Wi-go doesn’t reach the rooms, but is good in the common areas. Food was amazing every single meal. Kayaks are a bit sketchy... pool is a bit dated. Recommend going on the hill walk through the village. Instead of paying $75 pp for return transport to airport, consider taking the express bus (nice charter bus) from the main road ($10 one way) - hotel will organize drop-off for you (3min drive)

Wellesley Resort is delightful - it is out of the way, private, quiet and beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and well set out. The staff were attentive and friendly. With a short walk to the beach where you can snorkel among the colourful tropical fish, it's just the place for having a much needed rest from the busy-ness of life.

Great location! Beach is beautiful & snorkelling was fantastic. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Facilities were a let down, need other things to do other than just beach or pool.

We needed a quick sunny getaway which we booked last minute. We found a gem in Wellesley Resort. It was quiet, out of the way and very relaxing. The property needs a little attention, especially the decking around the pool and beachfront but overall it's a wonderful place to relax. The highlight of our stay was the staff at the resort. What a wonderful group of people. Very welcoming and friendly. Mere, the Manager made us feel at home from the start. Then we met the smiling faces of the lovely Mereani and Sekove (Scobie) the wonderful bar and restaurant staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. Naca and Raj cooked up a storm all week and produced lovely local and international dishes. Mili was the ever smiling housekeeper (helped by Scobie when he wasn't tending bar!) We can't forget Sabir, the always grinning and chatty grounds keeper. Then there was Ratu Sela, the Chief, who ended up being our driver on many an occasion and was a man of much wisdom and humour. It was a pleasure to meet you all, you make the Wellesley Resort a place of rest and relaxation. Vinaka vaka levu. Louise & Stu

This resort is really peaceful and quiet. beautiful scenery. It is the place to go if you want to relax and do nothing! The staff were nice but service very average. Reception was almost always unattended when we went to ask something. Often sat in the restaurant for 15/20 min before anyone walked in. You are given one complimentary bottle of water per day which is generous but there is not the option to buy more are the resort so bring plenty of your own or you will be constantly dehydrated. We wish we had known this. Overall this resort is not super flash but is definitely a good place to relax.

We had a wonderful stay with Wellesley and the best part is that we could snorkelling out from the shore of the resort and spotted so many wonderful marine animals. All the staff are so genuinely friendly!

Staff excellent, food good, bathroom, badly needing up grading, toilet constant running, shower taps fell off. Decking down beach front tiles cracked and broken rope .outside of pool Villa unkempt, gutter leaked, private pool murky, cleaned only once the five days there. Part of restrauant cordoned off. One kayak out of the three here had whole in it. Very expensive In restrauant. Overall a complete waste of money, not a good experience.

It would be a great place to say if you are after complete isolation and if the weather is good. Unfortunately we weren’t so lucky. It rained all day everyday pretty much and there were many weather related issues (power cut, muddy tap water, tv not working etc...). Not their fault though. Only one restaurant with limited choice and nowhere to buy another other food (except for the 1 nearby other resort’s 1 restaurant with lower quality food). Everything was really pricey and there was no activity to entertain us in that weather. All outside transport is very expensive. Wifi was really poor too. Some area not well maintained (nails in the open on the poolside). Staff is nice and welcoming but didn’t offer much compensation for all the issues. Would potentially recommend for 3 days tops of full tranquility.

Me and my partner recently spent 4 nights at the Wellesley Resort. we had such a great time that we decided to extend our stay with an extra night. The resort provided a complimentary pick up from Nadi Airport, pick up was on time and the driver was very helpful, allowing us to stop off on the way to us the ATM. The resort itself is located in a very quiet area, nestled amongst lush tropical rainforest and a beautiful beach right on your doorstep. The location is perfect but it is remote. The Wellesley offers plenty of activities including waterfall and mangrove walks, Kayaking, snorkelling and local village activities. We had such an amazing stay and was made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Food was also very good, the resort was happy to provide meals that were not on the menu also. The resort has one of the most stunning coral reefs just on front of it which is only accessible by boat. I have done over 3500 dives in locations all around the world and this area is amongst my most memorable. Saying this the Wellesley resort didn't offer local diving and I believe the resort would benefit from having its own Dive Centre. Thank you for a great stay!
