Curia Palace Hotel & Spa

If you ever want to get a sense of what it was like to be in a hotel in the 1920‘s, then this place is for you. While the hotel is a bit off the beaten path, I love going there just to get a glimpse of times past. While the hotel may have lost some of the glory of yesteryear, the rooms have been updated to todays standard and if you are lucky to have scored a room facing the front, you will be amazed by the view of the front gardens and the lonely swan.... An indoor pool and spa section is also part of the updates. Note that this area of Curia was one of the go-to places for the well heeled in the 20’s and the neighboring gardens and park can attest to times gone by. I believe the area is still popular in the summer, but as we were here during a very cold March, it lacked the liveliness i would expect in June or July.

Beautiful place. That can't be underestimated. Level of details was less than ideal - eg no bathrobes, no coffee/hot water in room. Also, the old classy vibe veered into creepy at time - the soundtrack at dinner was about 30 minutes of nice swing music, but repeated those 30 min constantly. Overall, there are not substantive complaints, but the it felt less than it should have been. No WiFI is a definite negative too.

The hotel was classic and elegant. We booked a spa package for 1 night and we were allowed to visit the spa as many times as we want from our check in until our check out. We were also luckily upgraded to the Classical Room facing the garden and had welcome fruit in our room. The stay was very pleasant.

We had to have a car to go anywhere. There are no coffee shops close by or eating places close by.

2nd stay at this hotel, will definitely use it again. Reception staff very friendly very helpful, facilities brilliant surrounding area lovely, places to visit within easy reach. Train station to other parts of country 5 minute walk

The hotel is far away from Aveiro (50 min drive), is old without improvements. Internet only in the lobby. I felt I was in 1920.

A stunning hotel with plenty of period features. The staff were always very courteous and helpful. Most spoke excellent English. The restaurant was very good with a good selection at the breakfast buffet and tasty choices for dinner. The only criticism was the bed as it was a little uncomfortable with quite a firm mattress.

They charged us per personne 10 eurosX3 for the indoor pool and spa Unfortunately the jacuzzi was out of service the light was broken in the sauna room and the Japanese bath was close
