ibis Styles Bourges

We have stayed here many times and think it is a great stop-over by the autoroute. The hotel has doubled in size and this time we had a room on the Western side which is adjacent to the motorway. Unfortunately the air conditioning had been turned off and the room was excessively hot. The staff could not turn it back on, so we had to have the window open all night and suffer the perpetual drone of heavy lorries. Don't let them put you in a room on the Western side of the hotel! Still a good hotel and excellent value.

A good business hotel with a couple of niggles. I stayed here with my wife on our way back to the channel port from the South. The room was very clean and had it's own balcony with patio furniture.Unfortunately the weather was very hot for late September and the air con had been turned off so the room was uncomfortable and stuffy.There was a swimming pool but this was also closed. The staff were sympathetic but unable to provide a solution. There is no restaurant at the hotel in the evening but a couple of reasonable 'chain' restaurants within walking distance which reception gave us discount vouchers for. The breakfast started at 6am which is ideal for early check outs. There was a good selection of breakfast items at the buffet. We would stay here again on our way to the South again.

Hotel very easy to find off main road. Very light and modern. Friendly receptionist staff. Room very comfortable. No coffee/tea making facilities in room but there is a free machine in the reception area. 15% vouchers for nearby restaurants is a nice touch. Ample breakfast. Would stay here again.

Convent for a stopover north south.I was a solo traveller but I wonder how two people would manage in the room. The bed large enough for two was only 4 inches from the wall. The shower room although well equipped was so tiny, you could sit on the loo and clean your teeth. There was no restaurant in the hotel but on the site there was a grill and a branch of Leon of Brussels which was excellent. There was free plentiful coffee, tea and biscuits available in the reception which was very useful.

Very good value. Super swimming pool which was great to use especially at the end of a long, hot day's driving or sightseeing. We really did appreciate the new layout of the breakfast area which is more spacious and better light than before. The range of food and drinks available for breakfast was also really good.

Spacious family room with kids' beds tucked away on a mezzanine for a one night stop on the journey from the channel to northern Spain. Near motorway exit for Bourges - very convenient but not affected by noise. Modern, bright hotel with good facilities (including small swimming pool), comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Excellent value for money with good breakfast selection included. Choice of restaurants right outside front door of hotel.

My wife and I were travelling up to Paris from Liausson and Bourges was a great place to stop over. The quality of the hotel was higher than I was expecting and the rooms were comfy and well laid out (besides the random gnome as a beside table). Would totally recommend the hotel if you're looking to stop over, just make sure you get there before 11pm to get some food - all the local restaurants stop seating tables at 11.

Everything you need on a journey across France. Clean, quiet, close to the autoroute and a good breakfast. Very comfortable beds and a couple of reasonable restaurants next door. Safe car park. Been there a few times now and will return.
