No free breakfast, on the 4th floor the carpet in the hall had a bad smell

They called three hours before check-in time to tell me the room I reserved was not available and they didn’t have anything else.

Nothing.

I had an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience with the front desk clerk during my stay. While I was still a registered guest and hours before the 12:00 PM checkout time, housekeeping was ordered to remove all of my personal belongings from my room while I stepped out briefly to get food. I left the hotel around 9:00 AM and was gone for no more than 20–30 minutes. When I returned, I was stopped immediately by the front desk clerk and repeatedly asked if I was checking out. I clearly said no and reminded her that checkout is at 12 PM. She then told me—very casually—that housekeeping had already cleaned out my room and placed all of my belongings in bags labeled “Lost and Found by Housekeeper.” My personal items were already sitting behind the front desk counter as if I had abandoned the room. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging how inappropriate this was, she tried to blame me, saying I should have notified her that I wasn’t checking out when I left to get food. That makes absolutely no sense—guests should not have to announce temporary exits from their room during an active stay. The lack of common sense and accountability was honestly shocking. What made the situation worse was her nonchalant, careless attitude throughout the interaction, as if nothing she did was wrong. Despite how upset I was, I remained respectful, yet I was treated like an inconvenience. From check-in to this incident, I felt unwelcome and singled out for no reason. This experience was invasive, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. I do not recommend this hotel based on how poorly guests are treated. No one should return to find their belongings removed before checkout time. Management seriously needs to address this behavior.
