Everything was fine

The on site shop was such a life saver. Good prices and not too overpriced like normal hotel shops. I stayed in the self catering apartments and I enjoyed the tunnel leading to the hotel, meaning I didn't have to cross the road upstairs when it was darker. The pool area was lovely in both areas. The quieter area was the self catering apartments where I was, then the main pool area through the tunnel. No sunbed wars, although I was here end of March. I managed to get a sunbed around both pools at different times of the day. The snack pool bar was outstanding, I had the best iced frappe from here, again pretty reasonably priced. I requested a pool view room, and I think by doing that, they may have put us in a bit more of an outdated room. Not their fault, I appreciated by request was accommodated. The areas were clean, toilets clean. I bought dinner in the hotel one night, it was standard what you'd expect for buffet/all inclusive style. It cost €18 including a water as drinks are not included. Plenty of food to go around. Some members of staff were wonderful, especially the maids I spoke to, polite and helpful. Quiet area, which suited me wonderfully. At check out my room wasn't available to stay in later that 12pm, a shower room was offered and luggage storage facilities free of charge. Unfortunately the shower was not working when I went to get one, and reception staff allowed me a room to shower and get ready in. It was a beautiful room, very big and airy and clean. I'm glad I got to experience a non self catering room, because I'd definitely pick this if I went back. All in, with a few minor issues that I'm pretty sure were to do with the self catering side, it was a good hotel. I'd stay there again.

There were a few minor issues, some personal preference that is nothing to do with the hotel. The self catering apartments are around 3-5 minutes walk to the main hotel, reception and shops. I have mobility issues so dragging my case up a slope to get to my apartment was tiresome. However I didn't mention this beforehand so I can't blame them for not disclosing. There were step and slope access on the path. The room was pokey, and as soon as the door opened I was practically on the bed. I know other rooms there were slide doors and looked larger family type rooms. But it was fine for a short stay. The air conditioning wasn't on in the room, due to the season they said. I get very hot so would of preferred air con any time of the year. I got offered a fan but it never came. The window would not open either, so I reported this and they fixed it no problem. However, after that, it wouldn't close so I had insects flying in for the rest of my stay. I couldn't be bothered asking again with only one night left. The room was a bit dated, kitchen area definitely could do with some tlc. There were tiny (what i assume) wood mites in the kitchen, that didn't bother me too much, but if I was cooking I'd of been very upset about it. Fortunately I didn't cook on my trip after all. The toilet gave off a very funny smell after each flush. But I just shut the lid and door, I couldn't smell it in the bedroom then. The location is very very hilly. It's only a short walk to the harbour, around 7 minutes, but all down a steep hill and my legs hurt after due to going down hill. They do offer a free bus apparently, up and down. But I didn't see it and wasn't given information on this. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. With the odd one or two with miserable faces and not very welcoming. But this happens anywhere and I wouldn't necessarily say it's a thb hotel problem.
