Headfort Arms Hotel

Lovely large bedroom and equally large bathroom.The breakfast was excellent with the hot items cooked to order. The receptionist was extremely helpful.

Everything was fine except when we reached the 1st floor we then had to go up several flights of stairs to reach our room as we seemed to be on the top floor.

Won't stay at this hotel again - which is a pity. They held a fox hunting Ball when i was in residence. I don't support or understand how this is still a sport which can be celebrated. Anywhoo - just my opinion.

Good location, excellent facilities. All staff friendly and helpful. Good secure parking.

My wife and I visited the Headfort Arms Hotel in Kells, Meath to attend our friends daughter’s wedding. From start to finish we received excellent service from all the staff during our stay. Very friendly efficient check in and allowed to check in earlier to prepare for the wedding that afternoon which was much appreciated. The hotel even arranged the small private chapel for the service, within 100 yards of the hotel. After the service we were entertained in the beautiful gardens in glorious sunshine where we enjoyed tasty canapés, drinks and live music. Then it was time for dinner and again the staff looked after us so well, 4 courses of the highest quality, all served very professionally to ensure the food was piping hot and no delays between courses. After the meal it was time to party and the live music from The Laura’s (if I remember correctly) was fantastic. I have to say that this was one of the best weddings we have had the pleasure of attending and this was mainly down to the hotel staff and it’s proprietor Olivia who was in hand to oversee that everything went to plan. Also a big shoutout for her manager Kevin who seemed to be everywhere checking that the bridal party and guests received first class service.

The service in the bar in the evening was good but very slow

The food and restaurant itself were absolutely lovely, which makes this even more disappointing to write. Unfortunately, one waiter named Conor completely ruined the experience for my family. He got parts of our order wrong and refused to fix the mistakes when we politely brought them up. He forgot my 14-year-old daughter’s fries, and when we mentioned it, he responded by saying “she doesn’t need them anyway” while looking her up and down. I found this incredibly inappropriate and upsetting, especially towards a young girl. When I asked to speak to a manager, he refused and became dismissive. It’s a shame because the restaurant and food were genuinely great, but this kind of behaviour from staff should not be ignored. Something needs to be done because no family should be made to feel that uncomfortable while dining out.

Went to the Headfort Arms Hotel for a meal with friends recently. The food was lovely and we were served by one really lovely girl whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch. However, another young waiter called Conor seemed very unprofessional throughout the evening. We were left waiting for long periods a few times and some of our orders were brought out incorrectly. What upset us most was that he asked one of my friends how far along she was in her pregnancy, when she actually isn’t pregnant. My friend already struggles with her weight, so this comment was very hurtful and embarrassing for her. I understand people can make mistakes and I don’t know if it was his first day or not, but comments like that are completely inappropriate and staff should be more mindful when speaking to customers. Unfortunately, it really affected our overall experience.
