Mayhurst Inn

Very pretty and relaxing. Welcomed with wine and cheese. We stayed in the Schoolhouse. Very private, pretty, comfortable and all the amenities. (stove, fridge, coffee maker, microwave) The hosts are personable, knowledgeable on the area and their home. Breakfast was delicious and just the right amount. Coffee was perfect. We will come back. We only had 1 night.

The proprietors (husband-wife) were pleasant, friendly, polite. Homey environment in a quiet neighborhood, peaceful-no hustle & bustle, no traffic noise. Home cooked breakfast made and served by the husband-wife team

My husband loves Civil War history. It was a great place to stay and learn some more history about Virginia. The food was great and the inn keepers, Jack and Pat, were very hospitable, providing excellent advice on restaurants, wineries and local venues.

One of the best B&B's in America. Owners very accommodating and gracious, attending to every detail of our stay. Will certainly return.

Got a chance to stay at Mayhurst and we loved it! It's a rehabbed Old South Plantation mansion that the current owners and the previous owners have renovated to the way it was decades ago. How horse were wonderful and breakfast was delicious. We are definitely coming back!

I think if the guests are "white" they probably had or will have a better experience than we did . The place would've been great if the owners were not so obvious that they are not a fan of any one staying there of any other "color " of skin other than "white". Especially the wife of the owner , they were so not friendly, I felt so uncomfortable with their cold welcome & very little conversation. I will NEVER go back there again because of how poorly I felt I was treated . When the wife first saw us it was like she saw ghosts & the way she said " how can I help you " was with such a rude tone it was almost like she thought we were lost & we didn't belong there . When we told her that her husband already checked us in earlier today she "oh ok " & walked away . I was appalled to see & experience this type of blatant prejudice still exists in 2017 .

Wonderful historic inn. Our hosts, Jack and Pat were wonderful with assisting in making plans, getting dinner reservations, the whole experience was great! They also cooked a wonderful breakfast both days!
