Great food, and a lovely room.

Quiet welcoming hotel, very good spacious rooms.

An absolute gem of a hotel. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. Our room - Trow - was absolutely amazing, huge, well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The bar service, restaurant service and food were all first class. We will definitely stay here again when next in the area.

Hotel very conveniently located just off the M1 and in a lovely setting. Staff very helpful and breakfast was great.

Liked the staff friendliness, the breakfast and the location. Didn’t like the mattress and dead flies on the window sill!

Extremely disappointed. I upgraded to a luxury room to enjoy a king size bed. I think because it was low season and the room wasn’t in use constantly the heating had been turned off so upon arrival the bedroom was extremely cold. Eventually staff managed to get the heaters on but definitely not warm enough to take a bath, (the luxury I had desired all day). To add to our stress the phone rang twice in the middle of the night at 3am. then again 4am., after which we pulled the plug out of the socket. The good things about our stay were good food, lovely fluffy towels, and pretty surroundings.

This has been a beautiful old property but like many now it is in need of renovation. My room was nice and spacious, clean and the bathroom actually had a bath which is nice. It was a little tired and need of some TLC. The breakfast was hugely disappointing. No one available to show me to a table and after waiting a while I was told they were busy and to sit anywhere. Hot drinks and hot food are to order. I waited 10 minutes before a drink order was taken and another 10 for it to arrive and the food order taken. I will just add there were only 2 other tables with people on and the staff seemed to be serving what looked like a meeting room elsewhere instead of dealing with hotel residents. The buffet was very basic. No fruit other than a small basket with a mouldy orange and some grapes. No gluten free options which is something most hotels offer as standard. Probably wouldn't return.

Lovely hotel superb staff really friendly

Receptionist went above and beyond the call of duty to upgrade us to a beautiful annexe as there were too many stairs to our original room. She insisted on carrying my case and took us there, amazing lady!
