The hotel was situated in it's own large grounds. It is very comfortable, the staff were very good and breakfast excellent

Amazing Receptionist. We arrived bout 3pm nd checked in with no issues. When we arrived at our room it was beautifully clean but unfortunately smelt very highly of lillies and myself being allergic to lillies and asthmatic started wheezing and coughing. We found many small.air freshner balls on th floor and the smell was from them. I went down to reception and the lady came up immediately to investigate, the hotel was full due to 2 weddings but she managed to find us another room and moved our stuff into it. First class sevice from this receptionist..Would highly recommend and stay here again. Lovely hotel and grounds

Wonderful room with a view of the gardens, felt very luxurious, thank you, however, the stay was slightly let down by having prepaid for breakfast, then having to select an early breakfast time the following day due to event taking place. Due to the times available, the breakfast was missed.

First stay here and will definitely visit again. Beautiful place, well kept both inside and out. Staff are lovely in particular the lovely ladies on reception and a special shout out to the new lady who served our breakfast, she said it was only her second day there but she was so friendly and helpful.

Stayed for 1 night. Lovely and clean, comfy beds. All of the staff are really nice. We would 100% recommend this hotel. We didnt have breakfast, as we woke up late.

The hotel is a beautiful 18th century building in attractive grounds. On arrival we were greeted in a friendly and efficient manner. Our room was disappointingly small apart from the very high ceiling, didn't contain any chairs and suffered from a humming noise that made it difficult to sleep properly. The bathroom was adequate, although it could have benefited from a refurbishment. Nevertheless, we were comfortable and warm despite the cold temperatures during our stay. Even so, for the level of charges I would have expected better.

Great location in an old country house built in 1772, with more modern extensions. Room was pretty large and the wetroom was huge. The bed looked like a double but had two mattresses, which was not really ideal. Heating was good and the room was comfortable throughout our stay. Disappointed that the gym was no more (and the website still listed it as present). The lovely grounds (55 acres!) make you think that you are miles from anywhere. The neighbouring church building was not open when we visited. Full English breakfast was good. The hotel seems to be doing well, with a reasonable trade in business conferences, with plenty of meeting rooms. Lovely reception inside the front door with a blazing log fire - very welcoming. Some strange design "features" in our room (304?): tall bedside lamps with switches on the top - why not on the base?; toilet roll holder behind you when sitting down - so we kept the roll next to the wash basin for easy access; then the light switches - the furthest on the wall outside the bathroom was for the bathroom. Great location, with easy access from the motorway.
