Hilton Garden Inn Merrillville

The property didn’t allow check-in even after the check in time. They checked in other guests that arrived after and gave them rooms. Ended up booking a different hotel nearby and didn’t stay

My stay was good. I would suggest continental breakfast be no additional charge.

The hotel was very nice, and the staff members were amazing - courteous and pleasant! Great hotel overall! However, my sleep was not so great. First, I requested a feather-free room because I am allergic to feathers/down. I even stated in my reservation that I was allergic. My room did have 2 foam pillows on the bed, which I appreciate. But it also had 2 feather pillows. When I tell you that I am allergic to feathers, I expect to have a true feather-free room – meaning absolutely no feathers in the room anywhere! I shouldn't have to remove feather pillows from the bed! Additionally, the foam pillows that were provided were terrible! The feather pillows were large (king size), thick, and fluffy. Very nice if you are able to use them. The foam pillows provided were very small, thin, lumpy, and not at all comfortable. They seem to have been very overused and are in need for a replacement as soon as possible. Lastly, the bed was awful. It was hard, and it was lumpy! I have never experienced a lumpy bed before and I’m not quite sure how a mattress would get like that. It was impossible to get comfortable. The hotel seemed new, so I assume it was newly renovated. But they missed the most important part by not upgrading the beds and pillows. In conclusion, you need to pay more attention to guests’ requests where there is an allergy involved. While I will not die from moving a feather pillow out of the way, some people have allergies that even if they walk into a room containing their allergen, they can have serious, and even fatal, reactions.

Clean. Friendly staff. Very accommodating.

The pool was closed for repairs so my children didn’t get to swim. I wish they would have accommodated me with points or free breakfast but still a good stay.

The staff were absolutely wonderful. Everything was clean and they had an open bar and the bartender was absolutely amazing. The lady at the front desk couldn’t have been more helpful. It had been a long trip and they were right there, waiting on us hand and foot.

Service is always good! I will say the two men working needed help!!! They were covering multiple jobs. They handled themselves very well.

Beds were comfortable. I like that breakfast lasts until 11am. I love the location.
