Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Swift Current by IHG

The breakfast was very good with lots of options. I would like to suggest that continuing to use disposable cutlery and plates takes a massive toll on the environment and is not pleasant for guests.

The staff we met were very friendly and kind, both at the front desk and in the dining room. The room was great except the pillows, whether the soft voice or the firm choice, ended up somehow being hard in the centre, making it difficult to sleep. The room is also hard to get to darkness for sleeping as there was a two inch gap under the door. I had to use extra pillows on the floor to close that gap. Also, there are coloured light s from the thermostat that incredibly, light up the room. I had to fashion a way to cover the thermostat with a dark clothing item in order to get the room dark enough to sleep. When it comes right down to it, sleeping is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART of staying in a hotel. it would be great if the room was set up ideally for that. One last thing; we forgot a case of beer in the fridge. Not a big deal but there were only 2 beers out of the case so since we were still in town, we went back for it. The staff couldn't find it in the room or in storage or in lost and found. The cleaner was done for the day and couldn't be reached on their phone. I left my card and asked to be contacted after they spoke to the room cleaner. I said we were travelling back through and could return to pick it up. We never heard a thing from the hotel. That was not cool. Clearly, the cleaner took the beer home, assuming we would not be back and no-one would be the wiser. They may have even thought we didn't want it. However, we all know that it is protocol for any lost and found item to be kept for guests. This was a matter of a two hour window, when we returned for this item. And the hotel never got back to us. Very disappointing. I worked for Holiday Inn London years ago as a front desk clerk and concierge. I know this is not the proper way to handle this. I'm really, really surprised and disappointed.

Location, cleanliness, beds.

Breakfast buffet was very good. Our king room was comfortable and of a nice size. . The fan on the thermostat was good.

Checking in was not a good experience. The desk clerk had a lot of problems finding the right room and name. She gave me a sign in sheet with someone else’s name on it. Also, the room was stuffy and had a strange smell. There had been some patching done on a door. Maybe the patching material was what the weird smell was. The window only opened a few inches.

Location good, breakfast bad

Given a room on the second floor over the pool with screaming kids and families. Kids running in the hallways above us. Breakfast sausage was not edible nor was the eggs. The quality all in all has gone down.

I booked a suit , day before I arrived I received a call and was told I would not be able to have a suit, only received a room with two queen beds. Was told there was no refund or other option but to accept the two queen bed room.

Very spacious clean room.
